‘Have set a price’ – Tottenham player ‘looking for a way out’, move in January possible

By Mehdi Gokal -

Barcelona continue to be linked with Giovani Lo Celso with the latest report revealing how much it will cost Barca to secure a deal for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

The La Liga giants have been one of the clubs strongly interested in signing the Tottenham midfielder.

And while there were suggestions early in the transfer window that Ange Postecoglou has been impressed by the Argentinean and wants him to stay at the club, it was later reported that the club were open to selling him.

According to Sport, Spurs have ‘set a price’ for him and would be willing to accept an offer of €15m in the January transfer window.

It adds that if Celso is to move, La Liga is the ‘most likely destination’ for him with Barcelona and Real Betis strongly interested in him.

Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is said to hold a strong admiration for the Argentine midfielder.

However, Barcelona’s financial challenges pose a hurdle and with the signing of Joao Felix ‘reduces the possibilities of a possible arrival’.

Aston Villa are another club interested in signing him with manager Unai Emery keen on reuniting with him. Lo Celso previously played for Emery at Villareal while on loan and hugely impressed.

His time at Spurs looks like it has come to an end and is ‘looking for a way out’ of the club now. He has only played 63 minutes of football for Tottenham this season and does not look like he will getting any regular playing time with Spurs with the likes of James Maddison, Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr the preferred midfield trio for Ange.
