By Mehdi Gokal -

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Gift Orban as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.

Galetti claims that talks have commenced with Orban’s representatives to explore the possibility of signing the player.

He told GiveMeSport:

“Tottenham are seriously interested in Gift Orban. With the possible farewell of Harry Kane, the English club have already started talks with the representative of Orban to explore the opportunity to sign and to test the room of negotiation.

The Nigerian player to date is at the top of the list for Spurs.”

Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich appears to be on the brink of completion, as he undergoes his medical with the German club.

The impending move is poised to make Kane the most expensive player in Bayern’s history, solidifying his four-year deal with the club.

Orban has 27 goal contributions (25 goals and 2 assists) in 25 appearances for Gent underlines his prolific scoring ability, making him a potentially valuable addition to Tottenham’s attacking lineup.

Kane’s departure is an end of an era but Tottenham are set to start a new era under manager Ange Postecoglou who has already made a big impact at the club in a very short time.

The mood around the club has lifted and players look very happy and keen to play under the Australian.

Postecoglou’s attacking approach, reminiscent of the days under Mauricio Pochettino, has injected optimism into the team

Ange already has a striker in Richarlison who was signed last summer for a big fee and although had a disappointing first season, he has already impressed in the pre-season.

But the need for a center-forward replacement for Kane remains crucial. Other strikers linked with a move inlcude Jonathan David and Brennan Johnson.
