Harry Kane’s Latest Quotes Remind Us All That Time Is Ticking Away For Tottenham

By The Boy -

The Independent this morning are carrying quotes from Harry Kane after the battering received at Anfield over the weekend.

Whilst the fan base debates the pros and cons of sticking with Mauricio Pochettino, time is not on Tottenham’s side.

Losing creeps up on you in football, in many respects, like an addiction. A few lost points at the weekend, then drop a couple more during the week, and before you realize it, you’re doing that dreadful thing that Poch describes so frequently, you’re ‘competing’.

The metric in all professional sports is winning and this is something that some Spurs fans have allowed themselves to become detached from. The ‘Enjoy the ride!’ brigade have descended into a mire where food and drink receipts and record attendances for have been elevated from the meaningless to achievements that must be celebrated.

Harry Kane has come a long way from the directionless loner that was loaned from pillar to post, to being one of the most revered strikers in the Premier League.

Kane’s endeavours in an England shirt earned the 26-year-old an MBE and the golden boots have stacked up, along with the Player Of The Month awards, but true success has evaded him.

There is no doubt as to how hungry Kane is, but there is significant doubt as to how well-fed he’ll get staying at Spurs.

The old football cliche about ‘needing to be on the end of his own passes‘ has rung particularly true of late, and Daniel Levy’s skimping in successive transfer windows has left the club’s highest paid player frequently starved of supply.

Hard work and talent got Harry Kane to where he is today, but it will take more than one man’s personal best endeavours to turn the ship around at Tottenham.

NO. You don’t mate. Watford should av beat you fair and square, a blatant pen and a handball equaliser. So actually you deserve less. The draw at City was more VAR luck and should av been 4 or 5 …so again, deserve less.
He’s having to pull out all the stops in this water tight contract bound decline of his.
Don’t kick and scream. Just take the bullet like you were payed to do.👋

Reading some comments on you tube after that Arsenal winner was ruled out, looks like people are waking up to the fact that Prem refs are corrupt as fuck. Ironic VAR is the thing that finally may expose it when fans thought it would prevent any corruption. The official who made that decision at Arsenal had never been involved in a Premier Lge match before. Hmmmmm. The sport is rotten to the core. Mike Riley and his mates need investigating and banged up. It won’t happen though cos of what’s behind it all. It’s down to fans who pay subscriptions and entry to grounds to act. Act now.
