Never has a deal spent so long being nearly done.

The Guardian say that Tanguy to Tottenham is a done deal, baring personal terms and an act of god.

Plus the money call was right, with the entire package being a shade over €70million, which pretty much deflates the nonsense from Jean Michele Aulas about waiting for a bigger bid.

Whilst I’m not suggesting this to the case, but had Daniel Levy placed his opening bid (widely rumoured to be in the region of €45million) in order to flush out the interest of rivals, then none were encouraged to break cover.

Paris St Germain and Juventus’ names were whored with some gusto and so unless Aulas ‘forgot’ to tell the world, we can safely presume there were no other bids.

Again, the most important point about all of this business is that the 22-year-old France international has been Mauricio Pochettino’s number one target – and Levy went all out to get him.

Congratulations to this blog’s critics who are dumbfounded by the fairness shown towards our Charlatan In Chief. You put the dumb in dumbfounded.

Tbf they should still have had top 4 at our expense last season. Even with their complete collapse in the final month they finished just 1 point behind us. Now they’re looking to seriously bolster their attacking options while poch has been given another child he can’t use and has had to send back to the championship. I think both our rise and their decline have been majorly overestimated.

Its hilarious these constant updates 2 hrs ago…..3 hrs ago…..22 mins ago……all say the exact same unconfirmed bollox every single fecking time. The same things being said for the last fortnight. How are these people employed?

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 2, 2019 at 9:28 am

Ndombele will want trophy’s. He’s probably looked at the squad and the fact ENIC fc are seriel losers and wanted to know who else is coming in…….

There’s a sticking point right there.

Ndombele….”Ooo else is joining this exciting project?(French bad accent)

Poch….”……err, well, we got a young star from Leeds….but he’s going back there for a year…”

    Ndombele…. “What is Leeds?”

  • Tappaspur July 2, 2019 at 7:44 am

For below. Tried to buy Tottenham but Joe wouldn’t sell. I went up to £2 .5 billion.

  • Tappaspur July 2, 2019 at 7:43 am

If I had untold billions id buy leyton orient. Brisbane rd would be brought up to a lovely 44.444 seater with first class training facilities. Sack most of the squad and bring in 18 free signings from the list below (none on more than 75k a week) then call Chris houghton and arry. Five years time premier league winning couple little cups on the way. Marcus come play for me son. 😂😂☺

“A done deal baring personal terms”

Hmmmm……. I wonder if closing this deal depends on Levy managing to squeeze Tanguy’s sense of self into Tottenham’s business model?

Amos – 22 getting loaned to QPR, at 22 he is either good enough or not I would have thought.

He was injured for whole season wasn’t he, maybe the best way to get match fit and find his form again.

  • GiveItSomeWelly July 1, 2019 at 8:24 pm

We’ve got to sort out striker cover as these days it’s not “if” Kane gets injured but “when”. Unless we plan to play 433 with a false 9 when he’s out. Or we could play Janssen he’s about as bloody false as you can get for a striker! Ideally though a young up and coming striker to be his apprentice. We had one in Dembele from Fulham but Mr Bungle bungled again and let him go. Jeez the man is a gold plated twat.

  • Lord Croker July 1, 2019 at 8:23 pm

    That’s why they win stuff.

  • Spurs est_1882 July 1, 2019 at 7:32 pm

Chelsea sign koviac for £40m and have now signed more players while banned than we have in 3 windows!

  • GiveItSomeWelly July 1, 2019 at 6:10 pm

I’ll believe it when I see him in a spurs shirt. It involves Mr Bungle so anything is possible. Thank goodness he started it early or it would have been another deadline day farce.

  • Spurs_est1882 July 1, 2019 at 4:32 pm

Is CCV on loan again?? I wondered for a while if our decision on Toby and Jan was influenced in anyway by CCV, but as you say, at 22, if he is on loan again.

That said, CB is a far more forgiving role when it comes to age.

Yep, that’s exactly what i thought when i saw the report this morning. I’m betting he wont get a single game at Spurs…

    Same as Carter-Vickers…

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 1, 2019 at 3:01 pm

That shows the nonsense Poch had to endure, last season he was forced to convince everyone Amos was ready for action and was willing to play him……we never saw him again, and he put out the knackered 1st teamers for the opening match onward. Now he’s at QPR. Another of Levy’s fledglings…..

Luke amos out too, so not sure where the Kane cover is coming from? Or are we thinking:
    Lloris
    Trip/Aurier – Jan/Sanchez – Toby/Foythe – Rose/Davies/Sessingon?
    Alli – Winks/Sissoko – Ndombele
    Kane
    Son – Moura

Linking us with 8 players (inc Jack Lewis and Ndombele), but also Malcolm, LeCelso (for £67m…he aint worth that!!) and a guy from West brom!! Silly season, I am willing to place a bet we get Ndombele, then the rest will be potential talents coming in, and nothing to improve first team.

One could argue that United were a different beast then. However, I would say its worse now, back then they were winners, now they are losers with winners expectations.

  • Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? July 1, 2019 at 1:14 pm

Clearly Zaha gave Bissaka no advice on a too early big money move to Utd……or he was ignored.

I think Wan-Bissaka is a potential great full back. I wish we had got him in. however, £50m is a joke of a price, you are talking finished material money for a guy that is only just ticking the average boxes and needs a lot of work. I think United are desperate and scrambling to show they are trying to turn it around. They will have another stinker of a season if not careful.

I agree. I think he is in for second season syndrome and OT isn’t the place for it. He will be under a lot of pressure because of the price tag and wages. If it gets to him with the crowd on his back it could do real psychological damage. Poch would certainly develop him as a player. It smacks more of preventing anyone else buying him than replacing a pensioner in Ashley Young with a World Class name (like they used to do).

We should put in a cheeky bid for Paul Pogba. If Poch can get something out of Sissoko, just imagine what he could do with Pogba. United spent a bit of money on Lukaku and Pogba but now want shot of them because they’re perceived as a bit rubbish. I on’t know that Ole could get a tune out of a triangle.

Posters on RedCafe the MUFC forum don’t know anything about Tanguy other than what’s in the papers.

Probably nothing more than the pro-United media scaremongering for click-bait. The RedCafe posters probably had to Google ‘Wan-Bissaka’ to find out who he was.

Reports say manure may come in at the last moment and sign ndomele. If that was to happen, then levy is saying to Poch that he can quit, because we are NOT serious about challenging for honours.

  • Thepin July 1, 2019 at 10:32 am

If it adds or subtracts anything from the discussion then Ndombele going 5 minutes down the road to Monaco for his hols is the equivalent of him in a holding pattern. If he posts his next holiday snap before one in a Spurs shirt from say, Dubai or Thailand then he’s off the hook for sure.

  • Andrew July 1, 2019 at 10:29 am

I never believe any “deal has been done” quotes.
when he signs, has Poch sitting beside him with his arm around the player, then I will believe .
How many times do we have top players taken from us when we had supposedly agreed everything ,Oscar,Willian etc. Levy tries to prolong the signing to maybe save on a few weeks wages.
I wouldn’t be surprised if ndombele ends up somewhere else, but really hope I’m wrong as I think he looks outstanding.
    Get him signed Me Levy.

They forgotten how to do it mate…you have to ask why our club waits until the window opens before they identify and talk to clubs and players. Clubs are aware that the window is a registration thing only right?

Indeed. Its a circus. Until Tottenham official say a fee is agreed(which I’d assume they’d be cockahoop and would immediately) this latest announcment is just another Dimarzio piece.

Personal term were supposed to have been done last week, now theyre being done in next few days….. STILL nothing from either club about this agreed fee. In a shirt…..with the manager. How can one player in 3 windows be this ridiculous?

  • Spurs_est1882 July 1, 2019 at 9:26 am

Seen in L’equipe this morning they saying United could still be the winner in this race… so Levy still has chance to Levy it up.

On a slightly different note – When are Juve going to get investigated for spending?
