Greavsie’s Agent Makes Claims Numerous Claims

By Joe Fish -

Tottenham legend Jimmy Greaves remains in hospital and has had thousands of messages of support according to his agent.

And one of the 80-year-old’s well-wishers is none other than music royalty Phil Collins, a Spurs supporter who idolised Jimmy as a kid.

Terry Baker told the Daily Star of Greaves’ A-list ally : “Phil Collins phones me regularly to see how Jimmy is and made a substantial donation.”

Baker manages Greaves’s social media pages and posted this on Facebook last night, confirming that the club’s record goalscorer, admitted to an Essex hospital on Tuesday this week, is not suffering from Coronavirus symptoms.

Collins, 69, would have been a 10-year-old lad when Greaves joined Spurs in 1961, just a couple of years older than my dad who also names the striker as his childhood hero, like many of the same generation of Spurs fans.

Tottenham’s official Twitter account have also been updating on the condition of Greaves who scored 266 goals in 379 appearances for the club.

The 1966 World Cup winner suffered a debilitating stroke five years ago which has left him in a wheelchair, and his health has never recovered.

Didn`t regard himself as a World Cup winner, unlike Pele claiming to be a 3 time winner, when making just 2 finals.Wish you what you wish yourself Jim.

Once over at Brookfield lane when the squad were doing gym work on the green outside the club house, Jimmy just went along the flower bed, one hand behind his back, leaning across and sniffing the roses!

I love the story about jimmy playing in goal at cliff Jones’s testimonial at Haringey borough ground. He came out of goal for a little while, scored a hatrick then went back in and made some great saves🌚🌚

There’s a great photo of Jimmy in the Spurs dressing room in the sixties having a smoke, always makes me smile.
