Before the game started, there are numerous reports emerging of issues between fans, including this rather lame and truly embarrassing business with some supporters pretending to be hardcore soccer hooligans.
Thankfully, some people can behave like rivals, without entirely losing their minds. One fine example of this would be West Ham’s Declan Rice.
Footage has emerged of the Hammer handing over his match-worn shirt to a young Tottenham fan, after last night’s Carabao Cup game, at Spurs. Rice was also a revelation on the park, for West Ham. For me, Rice was their man of the match.

Rice wasn’t just good, he was frankly exceptional. if we dare to glance at the rising stars’ total successful actions, then we get an immediate sense of the 22-year-old’s presence. 81% in this discipline is tremendous.

Want more? Try a passing accuracy of 94%. Or 80% of successful long passes. Then there were also Rice’s 64% successful offensive tackles.
Anyway, I digress. Nice work, giving that kid his shirt.
Not the point at all. Wether he was to stay or go, he’s an excellent example to follow
That’s what football is all about not mindless idots who think there supporters. dont want to go back to the 80s.
Nearly all of our supposed ‘wonderkids’ hang around far too long, never reaching the consistent performances that live up to their billing, and constant hype by the club. By the time they’re 24 they’re at Hull City…
He is an excellent player.Unfortunately for the spammers it won’t be long before he moves on to a big club.
How quickly does one want the kid to loose his way. If he moved up to the 10 spot they would then need to get someone to replace him. Unless it is Phillips who is the second best holding mid in English color, and maybe the Premier League behind Rice you are asking for trouble. Too often bad teams (not saying WH is one) but they trying find solution by sticking under develop or developing players in positions before maturity. Sessengnon was a victim of that at last club. Saw him playing as an inverted winger. The kid was confused and injured by the time he came to Spurs. Nice to see Rice getting the respect from pundits. I had in high regards watching him at the Euros. He certainly can fill in at centerback too. Big, strong and Athlete. Rice is what I had hope Dier become. Rice should continue to play up the middle even though he has the tendency to drift left. Either way he is a superstar and someone will be coming for him in the summer. Liverpool maybe,to replace Tiago.
heh!
To be fair, I thought Soucek looked extremely dangerous for them as well.
Even my wife made a comment “he’s good that one isnt he” – I was like, “yeah, too good for them, thats for sure”.
Steady on HH – anyone would think its Christmas!
That’s true but he’s evolving and getting forward a lot more now and is still 22 as noted above.
He’s a defensive midfielder mate. Used to be a centre back. He’s never been a number 10 because he can’t shoot or score.. He can do everything else though.
Would be unreal; and as likely as a white Christmas
The lad was different class, last night. Proper talent!
On the subject of the outside stuff, my well traveled Hammer mate in attendance told me it was vicious over there.
With a Spurs scarf on!
He’s a simply insane talent
Such a great response. Thank you, 👍
I would love that guy in our midfield
Rice is 22, their captain, best player and an England regular.
Reece James 22, top player, ECL winner and England Regular.
Mason Mount – ditto –
TAA – ditto –
And they’ve all been around for at least a couple of years.
We got Gil 20, Sessignon 21, Rodon 24, Tanganga 22 and they lack the quality / consistency to warrant regular first team game time, let alone excel.
I accept at that age they will not be the finished article, but we seem to think it’s ok to wait / hope they will one day reach a decent level. If they are not genuinely pushing for a regular starting place in their early 20’s I would sooner get rid.
Kane was loaned out at age 18 and returned age 21 and was soon a first team regular.. Mount was loaned out and returned to Chelsea age 19/20.
Skipp is 21 having had a year on loan and is now a regular – that’s what we want from our youngsters.
Still nice
The boy was a member of his family
Yup
I agree. Rice is arguably player of the year so far in the Prem. Thank god Moyes is clueless and had him on the left wing most of the game and deep in the back at the end instead of at #10 where he belongs or we’d be singing a different tune today.
