Tottenham Hotspur have been heading in the right direction during Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge.
Spurs are currently 5th in the table, just three behind Manchester City, Arsenal and Aston Villa, and 8 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Despite facing numerous injuries, they stand in a strong position in the league, which shows the style of play, character and mentality instilled in the team by Postecoglou.
He has created a close bond among squad members and that has been evident on and off the pitch this season, which has certainly been a big factor contributing to the team’s ability to achieve significant results.
Notably, the two Argentines, Giovani Lo Celso and Cristian Romero, share a good friendship.
In a recent interaction with fans on the club’s YouTube channel, Lo Celso referred to his compatriot Romero as the best player at the club.
When asked about the best player for Tottenham, Lo Celso mentioned (via Football London):
“For me it’s Cristian Romero. I’ve said it since the day he arrived and I’ll keep saying it. I was surprised from the first day, first in the national team and then here at the club.
“The way he integrated and his performance here at the club is still surprising. He deserves everything he has got up to here and everything he will get.”
Romero has been a key player for Postecoglou this season and has been entrusted with the responsibility of being the club’s vice-captain alongside James Maddison.
He even led the side in their recent Premier League fixture against Manchester United and he is expected to captain the side when they play Manchester City in the FA Cup on Friday – a game that is certain to be an entertaining affair.
While many would say that the Argentine’s answer is a bit bias and while Heung-min Son might be a popular choice for being the best player at the club – there is no doubt about the quality Romero brings in.
