Gardening Leave For Spurs’ Director Of Communications

By The Boy -

Simon Felstein was Tottenham’s director of communications, that was until last when he resigned by email according to the MailOnline. The man who had been seated to the right-hand side of various managers over his 15-year run at Spurs has been placed on gardening leave.

This news is likely to strike fear into the hearts of many reporters, who have fashioned a career out of passing on varying degrees of disinformation from the F-man. That said, some may find their work improves without speculation dressed up as ‘inside information.’ I take a view that most information gleaned from football clubs is best used to help frame the bigger picture, as opposed to used as a catalyst to indiscriminately pump out “I am hearing” tales.

The role of director of communications at any football club is a challenging one by default, but having survived so long at Spurs is something that will undoubtedly appeal to future employers when casting a gaze across Simon’s CV.

To be honest the chaos is there already regardless of how the club’s PR people mess it up. I’m not sure any PR department could cope with spinning the way ENIC do things as anything other than chaotic! 😂

All our employees responsible for external communications should be sacked. We stumble from one PR nightmare to the next. From club sponsors taking the piss to our very leader doing likewise.
