Tottenham Hotspur’s hunt for fresh talent continues as they set their sights on Swedish wonderkid Roony Bardghji, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old forward has decided against extending his contract with FC Copenhagen, which is set to expire at the end of next year. This decision has led to Bardghji being sidelined by the Danish club, with him not featuring in any matches in 2024.
Spurs, however, are not alone in their pursuit of the talented winger. Manchester United, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich are among the clubs vying for Bardghji’s signature, intensifying the competition for his services.
In a recent YouTube video, Romano shed light on Bardghji’s situation, revealing the player’s intention to seek new opportunities beyond Copenhagen. Romano stated:
”He’s not playing anymore for Copenhagen with zero minutes. Many people are asking why because we know there are many top, important clubs following this boy.
“According to my information, the reason for this is only one, the player has no intention of signing a new deal at Copenhagen. This is the situation as of now.
“His current contract expires in December 2025. So, it means that if nothing changes in the summer, Roony Bardghji will be available with 18 months left on his contract but obviously with a different kind of value.
“It would be a really interesting situation for many clubs around Europe. From what I’m hearing, for example, clubs like Tottenham, for sure, but also Manchester United, Barcelona scouts and Bayern Munich have been in attendance multiple times in 2023 to follow the progress of the Swedish talent Roony Bardghji.”
The young Swedish talent has been in scintillating form this season, netting 7 goals in just 17 appearances in Denmark’s top-flight league. He has also left a mark on the European stage, notably scoring the winning goal against Manchester United in the Champions League last November.
Tottenham’s recent signing of another Swedish prospect, Lucas Bergvall, highlights the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent.
With Bardghji fitting the profile of Spurs’ transfer strategy, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if they make a concerted effort to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
