“From every conversation I have…” – Reputable journalist shares the latest regarding the future of key Tottenham figure

According to Dean Jones, Antonio Conte has reached ‘the point of no return’ for Tottenham.

The Italian replaced Nuno Santos last season and did an exceptional job to turn their season around after a poor start to guide them to a 4th place finish, securing the final Champions League spot beating rivals Arsenal to it.

But despite a great start to the campaign this season, the season derailed post World Cup as the North London side got knocked out of the League Cup, the FA Cup and the Champions League, ending their chances of winning a much awaited trophy this season. .

And according to Jones, the club feels they brought in the Italian so he could win them a silverware which he has failed to do so.

He told GiveMeSport:

“I don’t think it will change anything in terms of Conte’s future now.

“From every conversation I have, this is pretty much the point of no return and I don’t see how this can change.

“Conte was brought in to win a trophy and he hasn’t won a trophy. He wasn’t brought in to qualify for the top four and there are many managers that would have felt they could have delivered that. It does feel like it’s going to be time for a fresh start now.”

The Italian is pretty much set to leave the club at the end of the season with his contract expiring in the summer and there seems to be no plans of an extension.

Specially after yesterday’s press conference from the Italian where he launched a raw attack on the Spurs players, accusing them of being selfish and targeting the Tottenham owners and calling them out for being unambitious.

Perhaps the only reason Daniel Levy has not sacked him by now is because according to GiveMeSport, Spurs will have to pay Conte nearly £5million in compensation fee if they let him go.

The club is already in hunt for a new manager with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique, Thomas Tuchel, and Roberto De Zerbi, all linked with the job.
