Former Tottenham player who left the club in 2022 is on Postecoglou’s radar

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing the Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The former Tottenham Academy defender played under Ange Postecoglou at Celtic and it seems that the Australian manager is keen on a reunion.

According to a report from Daily Star, players like Reo Hatate and Kyogo Furuhashi are on the Spurs manager’s radar as well.

Carter-Vickers knows the club well and he could prove to be a useful acquisition for Tottenham. The 25-year-old United States international has a contract with Celtic until 2026 and the Scottish club are unlikely to let him leave for cheap.

It is no secret that Tottenham will have to bring in defensive reinforcements and it remains to be seen whether they decide to make a move for the 25-year-old in the coming weeks.

The American International has been a regular starter for Celtic this past season and he will want first-team assurances before making the move to Tottenham.

Spurs could part ways with players like Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier this summer. Clement Lenglet has already returned to his parent club upon the expiry of his loan deal. Meanwhile, Japhet Tanganga could look to move on in search of regular playing time as well.

It is evident that Tottenham need multiple defensive signings and Carter-Vickers could get ample game time at Spurs next season.

The opportunity to play under his former manager could be an attractive option for the player and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.
