Former Tottenham defender William Gallas believes the club should sell Harry Kane

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur finds itself in a challenging situation when fighting for a top-four spot. Last week, the north London club fell to Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, putting them in eighth place, sitting seven points from fourth place.

If Spurs fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season, former Tottenham defender William Gallas thinks they should cash in on striker Harry Kane and sell him at the end of the season.

Furthermore, Gallas says the England captain is no longer showing his best form for the Premier League side.

“At the beginning of the season, I said they have to sell him. Harry wanted to leave, and he was really disappointed he didn’t go,” Gallas told The Sun. “When you are disappointed, you have two choices – to put yourself right and come back on the pitch and play as you need to, or you give up.”

“At the minute, he hasn’t scored the number of goals you would expect. For the last few years, he’s been the top scorer of the club and the Premier League, and at times it’s almost looked like he may rather be playing elsewhere. In my opinion, Tottenham doesn’t really have any choice but to let him leave now at the end of the season.”

Last summer, Kane was linked to a move to Manchester City, and after various rumors, a move never occurred. In recent weeks, there are reports that the 28-year-old is open to joining Manchester United should former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino take over as manager.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Kane this summer if Tottenham is without Champions League football for another season.

I think Harry is doing just enough to stay fit and avoid injury so he can have a good World Cup.

He’s having a good laugh at the resident genius.
