Former Spurs ace urges them to sign up Premier League forward

By Bruce Grove -

Darren Bent has urged his former team, Tottenham to seal a deal for soon to be free agent, Ryan Fraser.

The Scotsman will be a free agent in the summer and he and his club Bournemouth have accepted that the 26-year-old will be departing the Vitality stadium this summer.

Reports have linked him with a number of top-flight teams, including Arsenal and Tottenham.

However, Spurs have emerged as his main suitor recently and Bent thinks they should make the move happen.

Fraser has suffered a dip in form this campaign, but he was one of the highest assist makers in the Premier League last season and almost sealed a move to Arsenal.

He admitted that getting his head turned by a move away from the South Coast has affected his performances this season and Bent has urged Spurs to make him their player so that he can provide competition for Lucas Moura.

“You’ve got Son Heung-min on the left, Harry Kane through the middle and maybe Fraser on the right, battling with Lucas Moura. It would be a great signing and if you can get him on a free as well, wow, what a signing that would be,” Bent said as quoted by the Bournemouth Echo.

“If I’m Spurs I’m going all out to get that type of player but don’t make that your be all and end all. We saw Manchester United do that with Daniel James and yeah, he did very, very well but I’m sure United weren’t expecting him to do as well as he did. If Spurs can get him in on a free, that’s a very, very good start.”

Spurs have suffered from a lack of options when they have lost important players to injuries this season and Fraser could become a useful squad player under Jose Mourinho.
