Forget Arsenal’s form they are a huge danger to Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Form does go out of the window when the North London derby comes to town and it would be a mistake for any Spurs fans to think differently.

That is exactly what Arsenal fans did last season prior to the NLD at Tottenham, they would not countenance defeat, anyone looking at social media, especially Youtube in the week leading up to that game could not have failed to see the gloating and arrogance of the Gooners. They were convinced all their team had to do was turn up and collect the three points.

Tottenham was in a mini free fall and Arsenal were flying, that one game turned everything on its head and Spurs finished the season higher than their bitter local rivals, such was the impact of that game.

Right now, Spurs are top of the league, they are playing with massive confidence and are genuine contenders. Arsenal is in wretched form, basically, all the ingredients are there for the Gunners to roll up to the Tottenham stadium and collect all three points in typical North London derby style.

If both teams play to form then Spurs will win but that rarely happens in this game, form does go out of the window and Arsenal are a huge challenge.

I do feel that Spurs will win, however, I am cautious and prepared mentally and emotionally for that not to happen.

I’ll take a win over them or Chavs any way we can get it. However, I don’t personally want to be bored out of my mind for 85 of the 90 mins we play in most games over the season. No reason to be a defensive team, Liverpool aren’t, Bayern arent Barcelona never are when they have their groove on and all of them dominated.

It’s just Jose’s approach, fine just win us some big trophies and p*ss off… 😂

In NLD games the form book generally goes out the window…

It’s alright, we’ll defend for our lives at home, let them play all the football and pop a couple in on the break… that’s why it’s called ‘the beautiful game’. 😂

If Kane can find the net for the first time in a little while now – we’ll win, sure of it.

If he’s having a little wibble about getting his 250th…we could struggle in this one.

Early penalty, Kane converts – would do him the world of good

A game without the public. Anything is possible.

It’ll be their cup final so they’ll play their socks off.

It would be foolish for us to take any game against Arsenal as a foregone conclusion. I recall when we were flying under Harry Redknapp, for the first time in years I felt confident we would go and get a result at the Emirates. I distinctly remember we went into an early two goal lead and some Arsenal fans starting walking out in disgust. The result of the game? We were hammered 5-2!

Similarly last season at home, as you mention, I would have snapped your hand off for a draw before the start of that game, yet we ended up winning it 2-1. I genuinely think we will win this weekend, but only if we play as well as we have been doing and do everything right. There is nothing that the Arse would like more than to ignite their season by turning us over.

I agree, never write them off, they love to get one over on us, and they can make a video titled ‘The day we knocked Spurs off the top of the league’ !!!!!

If EVER it came out that a particular game was rigged to help a fellow struggler I would put my money on it being this fixture. Ever since I was a kid if one was doing great the other was doing badly, It would neatly always be a draw or a win for the other side, I like to watch the defences especially towards the end of the game where they make silly schoolboy errors, or the goalkeeper doesn’t extend his arm when making a dive for the ball.
