‘we are in the race’: Club director confirms desire to sign Tottenham attacker this summer

By Saikat -

Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese has confirmed that the Dutch outfit will look to sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season.

He has revealed in an interview via 1908 that they have been following the 23-year-old Tottenham winger for several windows, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal done this summer.

He said: “The fact that we are in the race for Gil has been the case for several transfer windows,” he said.

“We are looking again at what is possible. We offer a fantastic platform to give boys a good continuation of their careers. Or to show themselves again. Gil is a good player, but there are many more clubs that are looking at that boy.”

The Spanish winger does not have a future at Tottenham and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and sitting on the bench at Tottenham will not benefit him.

A move to Feyenoord could prove to be a wise decision. He would get to play regularly for the Dutch outfit and ample game time will help him develop further and fulfil his tremendous potential.

Bryan Gil needs to move on

The young winger was regarded as one of the finest young attacking prospects in Spanish football when he arrived at Tottenham. However, his development has not gone according to plan and he has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot under multiple managers.

The 23-year-old clearly needs a fresh start right now and it will be interesting to see if the two clubs can secure an agreement soon.

Spurs will be hoping to get rid of the player as well. He is clearly not a part of their plans, and they will hope to recoup a decent amount of money for him and invest it on a player who can improve them.
