Fee agreed: Premier League international set to join Tottenham any day now

Tottenham has agreed on a fee with Wolves over the transfer of Matt Doherty, Sky Sports reports.

The Republic of Ireland international has only just emerged as a Spurs target and they have wasted no time in agreeing on a fee for him which is believed to be £15 million pounds.

The defender has been one of the impressive members of the Wolves’ team that reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League last season and have been one of the best sides in the English top-flight since they gained promotion back into the division.

Spurs have been looking for a new right-back after they allowed Kyle Walker-Peters to move to Southampton.

Serge Aurier was heavily relied on by Jose Mourinho last season, but the Ivorian isn’t very consistent and he is one player that the club will look to sell at the right price this summer.

Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan have both been linked with a move for the former PSG man, but Spurs will ensure that they get the right price before they sell him.

Doherty plays more as a right wing-back and he will offer Spurs a new dimension with his run forwards.

His impressive attacking play is one of the reasons why he scored some important goals for Wolves including against Manchester City when they beat Pep Guardiola’s side.

Did you guys hear the latest…..

A team with a 50m right back only signed a year ago was trying to steal our soon to be new signing.

Yep, Man.U made a late enquiry to Wolves.

But I have a feeling Matt wants to play for a Winner.

If proof were needed we have a very good player in Mr Doherty for only 12m upfront.

In Mour I trust

As HH says …..mour please

quite classy from Wolves to let him go without putting up a fuss seemingly out of respect for the 10 years

They didn’t want to sell him,but the player has given them 10 years service, and wanted to play in Europe for Spurs & Jose so they didn’t stand in his way,Also he was offered better money.
