Fabrizio Romano: Transfer target has already told his teammates that he’s going to Tottenham|Man Utd aren’t involved

By The Boy -

That good sweet, sweet news just keeps on coming. According to Fabrizio Romano, Gareth Bale has announced his departure to his teammates. I feel happy for the Welshman. He’s been treated like a bad smell by both the Real Madrid fans and the Spanish press for so long, and this move to Spurs is a genuine ‘win’ for him.

The 31-year-old is walking out of the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium with his head held high, heading to a club that love him, that play in a super duper stadium, to work with one of the world’s most successful football coaches ever. This exit is not one to be made when the press aren’t about, so he scuttle away as an anonymous failure. The old faintly sad note is that COVID-19 rules will deny the opportunity of fans cheering his arrival.

There will be some in Spain who might prefer Bale were retreating to a club like West Ham, with the deal having ‘second rate’ plastered all over it.

He’s coming home.

Thank goodness for that. I think Gareth has set his heart on a return to a club that truly loves and appreciates him, rather than being a mercenary at manure and likely a benchwarmer much of the time, especially if they get Sancho..

yeah…if you beleive what the Spanish press say you may as well watch youtube for scientific advice. A number of players have come out and defended Bale over the time, and he even did a press conference in Spanish. Real needed a fall guy, Bale seemed to be the one.

Maybe, it is a signing that convinces someone to buy the club from ENIC

I think Bale’s problem at Madrid was cultural. He didn’t do the best job at integrating from the off which came across badly to the fans. Zidane clearly thinks Bale’s attitude is wrong and has an axe to grind having resigned over the board’s backing of Bale previously. He might not be a ‘classic’ style of Madrid player but noone can objectively question his contribution to the team’s success.

He is an injury risk because of the way he plays but he can make a real contribution at Spurs and I believe he will IF he stays injury free.

I do…I blame myself for not blocking you again. Your happy clapping does my head in! Only thing as bad as someone always looking for the negative, is a happy clapper!!

Not just about Merch, ad revenue will go up if he finds form, and add to that interest from people that are beyond fed up with Enic starting to come back. Need to balance this with the fact Bale needs to be the player we know he can be though.

merch numbers are generally false. people who buy bale shirts probably would have bought kane ones anyway.

If he puts his full name on the shirt we might make some moolah on additional letter printing sales at 3 pound a pop

Form is temporary and class permanent. Zidane treated Bale abysmally. Bale is coming home to a club that loves him, that should be enough to get his mojo back.

It does for me too, but I am not blinkered enough to not recognise when something good happens and give the credit where it is deserved.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Bale is coming back to a club that loves him. That alone should be enough to get his juices flowing. Zidane has been an ass towards Bale pretty much most of the time he has been there, so I’m not worried about what Zidane thinks.

I would mock this too, and i am still not fully convinced. It relies on us getting the player he can be, not the player Zidane thinks he is.

As long as Bale is hungry and stays injury free then it will have been a great window. You can see loads of comments in the media from other club’s supporters already mocking this, but I think that’s more to do with them knowing how much of a game changer this could be for us.

especially when you think we have a new left back, right back, defensive midfileder, and WORLD CLASS creative player for about £75m in total.

If this and the Reguilon deal goes through then the Bald one deserves some kudos for this achievement. Get another striker and then window can be virtually perfect.
