Tottenham Hotspur continue to be surrounded by speculation regarding their managerial situation, with doubts persisting over Ange Postecoglou’s long-term future in North London.
With the season faltering and Spurs sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League, reports have emerged linking various names to the role—one of the most high-profile being Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi.
However, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided some clarity, downplaying the current speculation surrounding Inzaghi.
Romano on Simone Inzaghi’s future amid links with Tottenham
According to Romano, while there may be interest from Spurs, the Italian boss remains fully focused on his current duties at Inter.
He emphasised that no concrete discussions have taken place between Inzaghi and Tottenham.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said:
“It’s not over yet, but it’s a dangerous situation with Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
“The Europa League will be really important because if Tottenham win it, it could change the whole sense of the project – next season would be Champions League and a trophy finally for Spurs.
“Otherwise, the expectation is for a very concrete and strong chance for Tottenham to replace Ange Postecoglou.
“There are links with Simone Inzaghi, but I can guarantee that Inzaghi is completely focused on Inter and is not having any concrete conversations with Tottenham at this point.”

Inzaghi’s commitment to Inter comes as no surprise. The Italian manager is having a stellar season, with Inter leading the Serie A standings and still competing in both the Coppa Italia and Champions League. Under his leadership, the Nerazzurri are aiming for a historic treble.
The 49-year-old has built an impressive managerial résumé over the years, winning domestic titles with both Lazio and Inter, and even reaching the Champions League final with the latter in 2023.
Given the stark contrast in circumstances, it would be difficult for Tottenham to lure Inzaghi away from a club currently competing at the highest level, however, it has been reported that Fabio Paratici could be able to pull the strings to help Spurs hire him.
Spurs, by comparison, are trying to rescue a disappointing season through a deep run in the Europa League, their only realistic path to silverware and a return to the Champions League.
With just eight games left in the league and a crucial European quarter-final approaching against Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham’s attention has to remain on what’s still achievable.
While names like Inzaghi will remain linked, any managerial change talk will only gain real traction once the current season reaches its conclusion.
