Fabrizio Romano confirms Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign attacker with 23 goals and 21 assists

Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Timo Werner.

That’s according to the latest from Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

He claims that Spurs are in advanced in negotiations  with RB Leipzig to extend his loan for one more season.

The new loan deal will be valid until June 2025 and will have the same conditions as agreed in January.

Which means at the end of his loan spell, Spurs will have the option to sign him on a permanent deal for a fee close to £15m.

Werner’s initial loan move to Tottenham during the winter transfer window has proven fruitful for both parties.

Since his arrival, the German forward has made a significant impact on the team’s attacking play, showcasing his quality whether starting games or coming on as a substitute.

In his brief time at Spurs thus far, Werner has impressed, contributing two goals and three assists in just 13 appearances.

His versatility and ability to influence games have made him a valuable asset to manager Ange Postecoglou’s squad.

Previously, it was speculated that Tottenham would seek to bolster their attacking options by signing an out-and-out striker and a wide forward.

However, with Werner now likely to extend his stay, the club’s plans for acquiring another left-sided attacker may undergo revision.

This is the German’s second stint in the Premier League. He previously played for Chelsea where he struggled to impress despite scoring 23 and assisting 21 in 89 appearances.

However, with Timo Werner now likely to stay, how thist impacts Tottenham’s plans for signing another left sided attacker remains to be seen.

As negotiations progress, Tottenham fans eagerly await confirmation of Werner’s extended loan deal, hoping his continued presence will further strengthen the team’s attack next season.
