It doesn’t rain, but it continues to pour for Fabio Paratici. The former Tottenham advisor’s position surely looks untenable at Spurs, now that Daniel Levy is no longer on the scene, but who knows?
The worldwide ban disrupted Paratici’s role at Tottenham, forcing him to step down in April 2023. However, by July 2025, after his ban ended, reports indicated he continued to act as a consultant for Tottenham, attending matches and contributing to recruitment. There were also rumours of a potential return to a formal role with the club, though no immediate decision was confirmed.
In early 2025, AC Milan considered Paratici for their sporting director role, but ultimately declined due to his ongoing legal issues from the Prisma case and other strategic considerations.
In March 2023, a preliminary hearing began in Turin to determine whether Paratici and 11 other former Juventus executives, including Andrea Agnelli and Pavel Nedved, should face trial for financial malpractice. Juventus was accused of false corporate communications and inflating transfer revenues.
In June 2025, Paratici, Agnelli, Nedved, and others requested plea bargains to resolve the case. The proposed penalties ranged from 11 months to 1 year and 8 months.
On September 22, 2025, the Rome preliminary hearing judge, Anna Maria Gavoni, approved the plea bargains, effectively closing the Prisma case without a full trial. Paratici received a suspended sentence of 1 year and 6 months.
The Prisma case concluded with plea bargains, avoiding a full trial. Paratici’s suspended sentence means he faces no immediate imprisonment, provided he complies with legal conditions. His professional reputation, however, was impacted, though he remains active in football, particularly as a consultant for Tottenham.
All parties, including Paratici and Juventus, have consistently denied wrongdoing, with Juventus stating their actions complied with accounting principles and international football industry practices.
Whatever way one looks at this result, the erstwhile Spurs man does not come out of this smelling of roses.
