Expressions Oozing Bids Farewell To Champagne Football Under Mourinho But Says Spurs “Still in the hunt like Ethan” [video]

By The Boy -

Another well deserved smear on Mourinho’s good name, is there a pattern emerging, where do Spurs go from here? Perhaps the players have to accept their own fair share of blame in all of this.

I will say this for Mr Oozing, he does have a way with words, Eric Dier is accused of being unfit, so much so that when the Englishman took off his shirt, Expressions saw more “Rolls than Royce”. Perhaps this vlogger is right, and better energy, better creative opportunities can be found at the feet of Gedson Fernandes?

The bottom line is Spurs won again, but do Spurs look like winners? In the hunt is not the same as being able to make the kill. Until this latest rebuild finds its feet, it really is difficult to tell what José can achieve.

Jose had met Levy, he ‘managed’ the Inter legends team when the new place opened. Perhaps he pitched in then, knowing Poch had come to the end of his relationship with Levy?

Anyway, Levy is actually quite thick when it comes to football, he’s probably a brilliant property speculator, I don’t care. He firmly believes that he doesn’t need to spend at the levels of those around us because Poch seriously over achieved.

SEVENTEEN NET SPEND & SEVENTH highest wage budget shouldn’t have delivered top 4 every season and shouldn’t have got us to a Champions League final.

Guess what? Jose cant even go and get a player like Alexi Sanchez just because he can either…

I’ll have ago at solving the puzzle. Levy clearly believes that Mourinho is a serial winner, why else offer a 2 mill bonus for CL qualification plus make him the second highest paid manager in the EPL? He is deluded in thinking that a manager can make up for lack of player investment, Especially after what Poch achieved, or should I say overachieved, Levy thought it was a simple decision. Mourinho told us that he was very happy with the squad and thought that the academy was very good, producing such up and comers as Luis Binks.
The end of the season will tell us a lot.

In 4 to 5 transfer windows, how many of the current squad will still be there? Toby? Hugo? Harry K? Son? Dier? Jan? Moura? Lamela? and others. That is a lot of replacement and Levy is the type to go for loans and younger players with sell on value. Not an appealing thought. Plus with no CL football the future is open top buses in the High St.

I see trouble ahead, or an exit for MoPo. The transfer window comment is away of deflecting criticism of his record at Spurs if he leaves before winning anything. “I didn’t have enough time” etc

I found the appointment puzzling at the time, whatever Poch’s future was going to be.

Sadly there is no masterplan in place, it’s just another example of Levy making it up as he goes along. As he had done for 20 years, it’s just happening again.

I just don’t see any kind of symbiotic relationship developing between Levy and Maureen, now or in the future…

So much truth all round… Maureens style of play isn’t for me. So far hes doing to us what he did to united. We are defending deep, playing the (tony pullis) long ball far too often (up to a 5ft 5inch lucas at the minute).. The united fanbase were never happy about this, nor their low score grindy results under him.. According to jose himself he said he will need 4 or 5 transfer windows to sort everything because the club ‘operates differently’. Im still not sure what he meant by this. How long will he be ‘very happy’ is anybodys guess.

After Levy’s opening derisory bid of £3M +Onamah for Grealish Villa’s apparent current price tag for this much sought after dynamo is a sweet cool £80m. Next!

Yeah but these people know that this ain’t Jose team. They know it wasn’t a happy camp. they know he’s only been here for five mins but yet they rubbish him off. For me that’s STUPID no matter how you wanna dress it.

I’m not too concerned at the moment with our style. We’re trying to change it mid season and teach players new habits. This is going to be a tricky transitional period. Last 20 we looked great. And that was under Mourinho wasn’t it?!

I prefer Panama’s assessment Tapp…please stop calling people Stupid that have a different opinion to yours….well said Mr P…..

Football is about emotions – emotions are “normally” not practical or a fair assessment of whats happened…may that continue…Spurs are unique – no doubt “most” supporters “get it”….but we really need to change our mentality – lets play well AND act like winners, nothing else is acceptable and why should it be..

Jose is really up against it from the media and, I dare say, certain sections of Spurs fans. He has a squad short on the right players, fit players, confidence and, apparently, energy. Some of this is a hangover from his predecessor who ran his charges into he ground before games (leaving everything on the training pitches doesn’t get you 3 points for your efforts) and got them comfortable with a ‘competing really well is just like winning’ mentality.

I believe that Jose is trying to build mental resilience in this group by forcing them to play under pressure with his deep, counter-attacking tactics as well as get wins on the board to boost confidence. I think there needs to be a corporate sense of belief developed in the squad so that they back one another in games which will lead to a greater freedom when playing.

Right now it does look ugly and not the ‘Spurs way’ but, let’s be honest, our season was resembling a train wreck when Jose took over and some are expecting Jose to work a miracle in these circumstances and, if not, they’re ready to grab their pitchforks and join the baying mob. Like it or not we do need Top 4 for a variety of financial and footballing reasons and I’m willing to bet that if it were teetering in the balance and we were looking like getting a cup final, Levy would prioritise Top 4. Bad news for us trophy-starved fans but a reality of modern football, cos it is all about the money, honey.

Jose’s pragmatism has got us the last 2 results.

If he can get a decent CM and some defensive cover then we are rolling.

This season is nigh on a right off but I like the foundation’s that Jose is laying.

With a fully fit squad he’ll let them play. When we are struggling he’s got the nouse to get results.
