“Expensive waste of money” Few Fans Have Anything Positive Say About One Of Mourinho’s Subs Today

By The Boy -

Gareth Bale’s return to Tottenham has been a fairy tale alright, Grimm! One of the enduring annoyances of purchases under the Pochettino era were players that arrived with backstories. Once José Mourinho landed all we saw in the main transfers that that addressed immediate concerns in the squad, that were not just affordable but ready to go.

Daniel Levy may be many things, but naive isn’t one of them. Yet he shipped in a player that would bust wide open the salary structure, despite being of distinctly questionable value.

For anyone calling for patience in respect of the Welshman, tell me how long precisely you anticipate this goodwill to last? Bale’s on the wrong end of a million pounds a month, during a pandemic, when shirt sales will be hit and match day revenues are flatlined. Daniel Levy cannot conceivably claim that all of this was ‘unforeseen’.

Bring on the January window and let José breathe.

Unfortunately Gareth looks like a busted flush. Yes, the skill level is still there, but the athleticism, the youthful hunger and the physicality required to make an impact in the EPL, now appear to be absent. Regrettably, on the evidence of what we have seen so far, Gareth is now a luxury player on a team which can’t afford ‘luxury players’. Like a classic antique motor, that looks good, is fun to wheel out for a spin in the warm weather and garner a few admiring glances (e.g. the free kick against the Twerps), but too expensive to run!

Start with a haircut son.
You look stupid with that 2010 European topknot.
You could get away with it if you were setting the PL alight.

Not sure the continual referrencing of the lack of any transfers during the Poch era helps understand where we are today. Vinicius Bale Gedson Doherty, and the disastrous situation with Deli, the bigging up of Dier and Moura when Jose first arrived and the resurrection of Aurier with a contract extension being touted can all be put on Jose’s watch.
Levy only spent under Jose when he realised the cost of losing CL football. Remember the sizable bonus Mourinho would get if he achieved CL qualification

Yeah I saw that and thought no thanks after bale.
Bale isn’t coming back, he won’t get fitter ,he won’t even get tackled as that might hurt.
I have been fully duped like many on here ,what a waste of money in these hard times…
