According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law. Tottenham have an ‘official offer set to be tabled‘ for Brennan Johnson.
He claims that sources close to the Johnson situation are expecting ‘Tottenham to make an offer’ today. He also reports that the player is keen on a move to the North London club.
He writes:
It remains to be seen whether Spurs will formalise their interest in Gallagher, as the club look to beat Brentford to the signing of Forest forward Johnson.
Sources close to the Johnson situation expect Tottenham to make an offer on Thursday, with the player keen on a move to north London.
Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday night that everyone at Tottenham are on board to to sign the Forest striker and that the player has been approved by Ange and the board.
He did however claim that in case Spurs fail to sign Johnson, they have other options.
The 22-year-old is one of if not the most important player Nottingham Forest’s most important players and losing him would be a huge blow for them but they will be forced to sell him due to the Financial Fair Play concerns.
Forest are in dire need of some cash inflow after their heavy spending last season and they are expecting to coup something between £40m and £50m for the player.
While the club value him at £50m, they could resort to selling him for a reduced fee if it means its gets a deal done before the transfer window shuts.
TBH says:
Tottenham have lost a 30 plus goal scorer in Harry Kane this summer and their big money signing Richarlison has failed to live to his expectations. He struggled last season under Conte and despite some improvement in performances, he still has not looked at his best.
They are now running out of time to secure the signing of a striker. If they fail to bring in a striker before the window shuts, it could negatively impact Tottenham’s season.
