Exclusive: Tottenham home in on interesting Robin van Persie prodigy

Several European clubs, including Tottenham, Brighton, AFC Bournemouth, Napoli, and AC Milan remain linked to Feyenoord’s young talent Zépiqueno Redmond.

18-year-old Redmond’s versatility—his ability to play as a striker, winger, and attacking midfielder—makes him one of the most attractive young talents across the continent, and TheBoyHotspur understands that Tottenham have upped their interest in the player this week.

Redmond, who made his debut in both the Eredivisie and the Champions League this season, gained attention following the departure of the excellent Santiago Giménez.

Feyenoord coach Robin van Persie has expressed hope that Redmond will remain at the club, though the player’s future remains uncertain.

In addition to Italian and English clubs, several Bundesliga teams are also competing for the transfer of the young star. The expiration of Redmond’s contract makes him a potential free transfer, further heightening interest from various clubs.

Clearly, there will be many options open to the boy.

Our view

Yet again, it is our sad duty to report that whilst the club’s scouting department may be taking their roles seriously, it would be remiss to try to convince you that Tottenham would be seen as an in-demand destination club, given our appalling position.

Given Ange Postecoglou’s frankly bizarre handling of Tottenham’s youth players, including Archie Gray against Liverpool last weekend, not even mentioning the business with Mikey Moore, it seems a leap that any prospect looking to make a step forward would choose us.

The situation is somewhat of a mess, and the sooner some meaningful direction returns to the club, the better.
