Gabby Agbonlahor has given his view on the Harry Kane transfer saga and says the striker should apologise to Tottenham for how he’s trying to leave the club this summer.
Kane has asked Tottenham to sell him in this transfer window to a club where he has more opportunities to win trophies.
Manchester City has emerged as his main suitor and the striker is determined to push through the move to join the Premier League champions.
City is, however, struggling to reach an agreement with Tottenham who doesn’t want to sell.
They have set a steep asking price and are not eager to negotiate with Pep Guardiola’s club.
Kane delayed his return to preseason in what has been interpreted as an attempt to force through a transfer.
However, his actions didn’t impress Agbonlahor, who said he wasn’t blind when he committed to a six-year deal at the club in 2018.
The former Aston Villa man says, Kane literally committed the best years of his career to Tottenham and is now wanting out.
He then adds that he expects the striker to even apologise for his actions in this transfer saga.
He said to TalkSPORT: ‘Nobody forced Harry Kane to sign a six-year contract at 25-years of age. That’s basically committing your best years to the club.
‘To not win the trophies he wants to win, he can’t just jump ship and force a move to a club where he will win trophies.
‘The three finals he’s played in, he hasn’t shown up. If I’m Nuno, Levy or the Spurs players, I’m expecting a big apology from Kane.
‘I’m expecting him to get fit, come back and win trophies with Spurs.’
