Everton makes huge promise to Tottenham target in battle for his signature

By Bruce Grove -

Everton has become the latest team to show interest in signing Sergio Aguero and they are prepared to make an offer they hope he won’t refuse.

The Argentine striker is in the final months of his current deal with Manchester City and he will not be re-signing for them.

The club and player have announced their split after a decade of service and he will now find a new team.

Spurs have reportedly identified him as a player who can improve their squad and perhaps make them trophy winners from next season.

Injury has plagued him this season, but he will enter the transfer market as one of the best free agents on offer.

With the future of Harry Kane uncertain, signing him would make it easier for the Lilywhites to move on if they sold the England captain.

However, they face serious competition from Everton for his signature, according to Star Sports.

The report says the Toffees will struggle to pay his current £240,000-a-week wages, but they have promised to give him a huge signing-on fee to make up for that.

This offer is one that could entice him, but Spurs can make him a better offer, especially if they get Gareth Bale off their wage bill.

I’d take him if he was 42 !
Wages the issue though.

His big problem is injuries, he makes Kane look 100% fit all the time by comparison. But certainly worth having for the right price even as a bench player coming on for Kane (if Kane decides to put up with Levy taking the p i s s any longer that is).

Going by his performance yesterday it’s a must to sign him. He was outstanding.

Getting the injury prone and likely past his best Aguero as a free agent replacement to Kane? No brainer for Levy. Along with Bale back for another loan, we’re down two squad spots before the season even starts.

‘Perhaps’ being the operative word.

That’s the big question…will he get on the pitch enough?? Get him fit it’s a no brainer.

We need another injury prone player to replace Erik Lamela when he returns to Italy.
