Italian outfit Juventus are keen on signing the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
A report from Gazzetta claims that Juventus have been keeping tabs on the 28-year-old Premier League midfielder for a while, and they recently sent emissaries to ‘check out’ the player in action against Kazakhstan.
Denmark won the match 3-1 and Hojbjerg impressed with his performance. It will be interesting to see if Juventus decide to make a move for him when the transfer window opens in January.
The club’s director Cristiano Giuntoli is reportedly an admirer of the player’s experience and flexibility.
The report claims that Spurs will demand €30 million for the midfielder and it remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit are prepared to pay that kind of money.
Apparently, they will face competition from Spanish Atletico Madrid, who tried to sign the player during the summer transfer window as well.
Tottenham do not view the midfielder as a key part of their plans and they are ready to get rid of the player in the coming months. However, they are not interested in a loan move and any club hoping to sign the Denmark international will have to sign in permanently.
Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League with clubs like Southampton and Tottenham. There is no doubt that he has the quality to thrive at a big club like Juventus as well. He will be able to compete for major trophies with a move to Turin. It will be interesting to see if the Italian outfit can secure an agreement with the Londoners now.
