ESPN: Liverpool Could Snap Up Milan Skriniar As Soon As January

If José Mourinho can keep Tottenham firing on all cylinders, and manages to prepare an exit deal for say… Dele Alli, then Spurs could still be in the race for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar, but for now, Liverpool are looming and the Kosher One will not be a happy man.

Virgil van Dijk’s injury looks to be a long term deal, and so the idea that Klopp would be on the prowl for another defender isn’t a particularly wild one. James Olley for ESPN believes that Liverpool would have the edge if they were to move for the 25-year-old in the winter window, as Tottenham were spent out after their business this summer.

It appears that the Slovakian centre back has been ‘frozen out’ at Inter and if a big side like Liverpool were to come in for him in January, then Spurs could end up with another one added to the ‘one that got away‘ file at Hotspur Way.

Liverpool’s alleged interest shouldn’t be ignored – and Mourinho cannot afford to stand still in a single window.

The future is always excellent with ENIC. It’s always the present that seems to be the issue… 😂

Buying ready to go players has to become our norm. Prospects need to be bought and sent on loan until good enough. Why is Jack Clarke still training with us? To learn off Bale? I’d rather he learns from trying to get past seasoned pros in the Championship or League 1. He can watch videos of Bale training and playing easy enough. Waiting 3 years, even 1 year for our signings to come good does us no favours when competing toe to toe with teams in the top 4 race, especially when they are ‘marquee’ signings and can’t get on the bench (Tanguy and Sessegnon last season, cost us over £70m!). This season, Doherty and Vinicius look ‘meh’ whilst Bale at £200k per week hasn’t been able to play 90 minutes yet and it’s November! I’m not doubting Bale’s quality at all, but I want him on the pitch more. Same with Lo Celso (what is his record for consecutive number of games played?). Our forward line up is strong, the midfield is stronger defensively thanks to Hojbjerg, it could help in attack more though, but our back 4 look fragile. Is Rodon the man we need right now at CB? If he was, he’d be playing wouldn’t he? I don’t know if Skriniar is what we need, but we are vulnerable at CB. He was an apparent long term target but Levy wouldn’t pay the asking price. Where have we read that before? That could come back to haunt us unless Sanchez, Dier and Tobes can work out a consistent unit between them. I haven’t been convinced so far under Jose’s management that they can, and that is with 2 defensive midfielders protecting them. A clean sheet against WBA won’t tell us anything, as they are awful at the moment, but what would it say about our defence if they do score? There are much bigger games to come and the defence has to start showing its worth. We are making undoubted progress from last season, but if we don’t get top 4 what are our chances of keeping Kane and Son? It will be close, as each week a new contender emerges and one drops out. One minute Chelsea are rubbish, the next they are flying! The opposite for Everton. Fans from Leicester and Arsenal are expecting big things to go along with ourselves, and that is 4 teams without even mentioning City, Utd or Liverpool. We are only 7 games in and I can’t bare it!

Liverpool will pay the money and the wages to get their man. ‘Mr No Compwension’ messes people about and we miss out on some much needed quality at the back. Hardly surprised by this, Grealish all over again…
