It never rains but it pours.

See the South Stand for further details.

A source close to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club tells the Harry Hotspur blog that 3 parties have enquired for two first team players.

Two sides have made tentative enquiries about Toby Alderweireld and a third side have registered interest in Christian Eriksen.

It is understood that at least one of the 3 parties is a Premier League side.

If correct, then this comes as little surprise given the manner that player contracts have been dealt with recently.

The activation of a clause to engage Jan Vertonghen for another year spoke volumes. As statements of intent go, this barely constituted a ‘maybe’, given that the Belgian its without doubt one of our best players.

Christian Eriksen’s contract negotiations have dragged on beyond parody.

It’s difficult to narrow down the right words to describe the importance of the Dane, perhaps the simplest form is just that, ‘we look rather mediocre without him’.

Again, in any other business, a CEO that failed to safeguard his best assets would be handed his sandwiches in a roadmap.

Spurs minus either of these enormous talents will be a lesser entity.

If Levy sells Toby in January he is basically ending the season cause we have no replacement dont say sanchez he is bang average (at best).
Its basically stand up time for levy and that tax exile scrooge of an owner. let players slip away and poch will walk, he may anyway.
however if we lose players like toby and christian he will struggle to sell tickets for next season. attendences at wembley are falling despite the upturn in performance

Andros Townsend smashed a ball into a goal.

This upcoming period will define everything about where Levyenic go from here.

Is there any kind of plan to push on at all? Fenway spent big to improve Liverpool with 2 players, a Liverpool who previously were not as good a squad as Spurs. As our two finishes above them illustrated.

Levy and Joe either start investing in the team or we go backwards. If that happens we will see the break up of the team and the manager walk.

Over to you Baldy…

Is Gascoigne gonna have a crack?

Poch and the players have done more than could be reasonably asked of them. Yet two of the greats have been lowballed and left exasperated – by the only individual at spurs being paid above market rate. Country miles above.

The ball really is in Levy’s court. If some of our best players aren’t being tied down to worthy contracts it’s inevitable they will be coverted by our rivals or even foreign clubs. To lose the likes of Toby,Jan and Christian would be criminal negligence.Poch should be putting pressure on Levy to sort these guys out.

Not surprising. Our very best players will be in demand and levy will sell them if they ask to leave. As they say,you can’t keep a player that wants to leave. That is a feeble excuse ,why not try paying them what they are worth. ?
The Eriksson negotiations are really bad news. How the heck can levy still be negotiating, give him parity with Kane .
We are at the crossroads ,do we make the next step up or go back to mid table. I think enic would be happy either way.

You can’t force players to sign contracts! You either work out if it’s wirth keeping them as they are more important than money or you cash in!!
Eriksen let his deal run pretty close the last time he signed! He wants to stay he’s looking for a massive pay hike which is fair enough!
Toby is different due to his age, you hand him £250k a week plus signing on fees and you have an older player with a fortune tied up in him for 4 years
We paid £11m for Toby so we’ve had Godfrey value, if he chooses to leave then good luck to him!
Personally Liverpool would do well to try and go for him! I would not want him there but it could happen if they’ve any brains
