Tottenham Hotspur is coming off an impressive win over Everton FC, winning 5-0, and the north London club heads into their matchup against Manchester United this weekend with some confidence.
Both clubs are fighting for a top-four spot, so a win would benefit either side as it keeps them on par with Arsenal FC, which holds that fourth spot in the table.
However, former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick believes the result for this match for Spurs won’t make a difference in the race for the top-four during his appearance on the Premier League Productions (via HITC).
“There have been spells where they (Spurs) have looked dangerous, positive, and looked like they could go on a real run,” Carrick said. “At one stage, they were really challenging Chelsea not so long ago, and they were in touching distance of that.”
“Then, a couple of results didn’t go Tottenham’s way. And they have ended up being where they are. Whatever happens against Manchester United on the weekend. I think there will be twists and turns in that. I think there are four teams that anything is possible. I don’t think this weekend will decide anything, whatever the result.”
Tottenham sits three points away from Arsenal, so if Antonio Conte’s squad heads into Old Trafford and walks away with the three points and Arsenal stumbles against Leicester City, Spurs could be in a tie with The Gunners with 48 points.
It will be interesting to see if Spurs can turn their last two Premier League fixtures into a run and prove Carrick wrong or fall short in the race.

cant help thinking that this assessment is a little negative .
Every result is possible in this match , we’re Spurs , they’re Man U !!
However , current form and body language , allied to the fact that this is surely the biggest game of the season so far , must mean we get body and soul behind our team . If we can get the required win , our season will transform and open the obvious chance of CL .
Big ask ? maybe , maybe not , but our players are mentally on an all time high for the season – I sincerely believe us to be strong favourites to win this – we have the Worlds best player in our midst , high on confidence .
Come on Harry , come on you Spurs , lets resurrect our season in an afternoon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Rangnick will know that our recent good performances will have come about by exploiting a high defensive line used by our opponents.
He will set Utd.up so that they play deeper so as to restrict the space availablefor us to run into.If this works then I fear we will resort to the unsuccessful tactics that we used against Burnley and Boro and we might have our old Spurs back.
I would love our new form to continue, but without that creativity in midfield,I can see us struggling against a Utd.team that in truth is not that good.A 0-0 draw would not surprise me.
