“Embarrassing” “Wow” “What a joke” Photo With Spurs Ace Provokes Plenty Of Ridicule

First Albania, then San Marino. At grand total of 15 goals for Gareth Southgate’s valiant Englishmen.

This is a great opportunity for us to examine the phrase ‘you can only play who’s in front of you’, and hopefully finally confirm its absolute worthlessness. From the same stable as ‘careful what you wish for’, here we have a concoction of words designed to prevent free thought and stifle debate.

Nobody (to the best of my knowledge) is contesting the scorelines, rather querying the value of excitable results against extremely poor opponents.

The obsession with hitting the numbers, in most industries, can occasionally end up undermining the quality of the individual achievements. Sure, scoring a tonne of goals is always a positive, but at what point might one ask… to what good purpose?

These fans were far from impressed

Remember when you had to go and get a point in Rome or win in Poland etc to get through to a world cup or euros tournament?

The most pitiful, pointless joke of a group in the history of sport. Not to mention the season flow completely screwed….I can’t even remember what’s happened in the league, it’s like a black hole of total uncompetitive time waste.

Did people actually watch? They use these telegraphed international sh$tshows too mercilessly promote woman’s football in the absence of anything…..it’ll end up being more competitive at this rate.

Great job UEFA and FIFA and the FA, slowly draining the last sustenance out of the corrupt emotionally bankrupt corpse of the sport of football.

The tone-deaf celebration reminds me of the Fast Show father who beats his young son at tennis, then leaps over the net.

They should be winning ten nil. But still job done, good work.. The twitter trolls and naysayers and sourpusses are in abundance these days, probably fat couch potatoes who can’t get into their local pub teams.. They are really venting because they are rubbish themselves. They all talk the talk as if they could do better. Lol.

I have to say having read Harry’s timeline that was not the universal view of the tweets. For nearly all professional footballers going to a World Cup is the biggest event in their calendar and the picture reflects their happiness at taking part in next years finals. It just happens that they qualified for the final by beating the worst team in world football but that was more a quirk of the fixtures rather than the elation of a much expected victory.
Harry is now England’s third highest scorer of all time and will soon if he stays fit be our all time top scorer. He’s already our highest scorer ever in both competitive matches and World Cup finals.
Those who say he only does it against pub teams need to take a look at the goals scored by others on the list. To me Jimmy Greaves was our greatest ever forward but if you look at who he scored his goals against, in an easier era I believe, you will see that he too plundered many of his goals against so called inferior opposition.

I’ve been saying this for a number of years. The statistically lowest teams should play out pre qualifying rounds so that perhaps the best two join the real footballing nations. These meaningless fixtures do nobody any good.

Kane will beat Rooney’s record without scoring against the likes of San Marino.

Haters will always be (socially inadequate or inept) haters; never content unless they’ve something to gripe about – damned if you do, damned if you dont!
Doesn’t matter who the opposition, you still have to score/win.
In 185 competetive matches, San Marino have only conceded 10+ goals on 3 previous occasions so it was an (of sorts) ‘achievement’

I think the “only play who’s in front of you” statement is fair. Can’t blame Southgate and the lads for being forced into this, it’s FIFA’s responsibility to sharpen it up. Harry certainly isn’t complaining though as he sails past record goal scorer totals.

However, absolutely no doubting that part timers like San Marino should be forced to do some pre-qualifying.

Something else Harry wouldn’t complain about… as it would make his soon-to-be-greatest-of-all-time scoring record absolutely unassailable!

But the “great” Lewandowski couldn’t score 1 in Poland’s 5-0 home defeat of San Marino. He only got 1 in two whole games v Albania.

Whereas HK scored a hatful against both; they must have put out their second teams I suppose when they played England?

Twats on twatter. They qualified for the world cup – give em a break. Something Portugal and Italy haven’t done at the first time of asking.

Makes me laugh social media morons slagging off England just for taking a team photo after a successful couple of games, whilst those same noddies probably takes zillions of selfies when nobody is interested in looking at their ugly mugs pulling a stupid face.

England were drawn in the weakest group bar none. Kane has always been left out of the games against the minnows previously. Results say Albania are a decent team which England destroyed with a terrific first half. This could be a World Cup without Portugal, Italy or Uruguay, so lets just say, job well done.

They can’t win. They score 5 goals and people say “why didn’t you score 10?” They score 10 goals and people say “you played a pub team”.

We qualified for the World Cup. A World Cup we have a more than reasonable chance of winning. We also don’t have to go through the play offs. All hell would of broken loose if we didn’t win our group. I think think is worth a photo.. just ask Italy
