Don’t Write Off The Rose

By The Boy -

The Mirror have been running with the suggestion that a Danny Rose plus cash deal could bring Lucas Digne to Tottenham Hotspur.

People play tricks with mirrors.

The problem with this fake rumour is that a source close to the cub tells the Harry Hotspur blog that Danny Rose is no longer interested in leaving Spurs.

Sure, if one of the Manchester sides were hammering on Daniel Levy’s door with supersized banker’s draft, then that could shake things up for the lad. But a bundle deal to Everton?

This is not just lazy, it’s a horribly outdated attempt at a transfer rumour.

Yes, Rose’s time with us has been turbulent of late, but even if he isn’t still the best left back in the country anymore, the 28 year old has shaken off his problems and never failed to give Tottenham his all.

In a side where clowns like Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen are either pulling vanishing acts or failing to beat the first man with a dead ball, at least with Rose you know you’ve got a guy who absolutely will not quit.

I’m not sure that mentally Danny would cope being relegated to Goodison Park, but I’m convinced that N17 would be a lesser place without him right now.

Rose to Everton would be the same net result as Lennon. He would vanish into obscurity. He was probably our best performer in the CL Final a match etched into my mind forever for its lack of passion from most of our players and the total tactical ineptitude of Pooch. A missed opportunity of epic proportions. Keep Rose and dump Davies, and buy two new wing backs who have pace and can cross like the Liverpool duo.
