Disastrous News From Harry Kane – If You’re An Anti-Mourinho Fan

By The Boy -

Some time ago, we established that the phrase ‘parking the bus’ was a fundamentally unthinking phrase, a former Saints’ player Danny Higginhbotham was quoted as saying that under Mourinho, that Spurs were simply ‘organised’.

Alan Hutton (late of this parish) told The Boy Hotspur that what José asks for and often achieves was “called being technically very good and defensively sound.” Maybe these former players know less than fans sat in their distempered front rooms, demanding to be entertained?

After last night’s superb 1-3 win away at Bramhall Lane, Harry Kane has added to the evidence stacking up against those seeking to find fault with the Portuguese Pulis at every turn.

England captain Kane was quoted by the MailOnline as telling us precisely what was clear to those of us who can see. This season has been an extremely unusual one, and Mourinho has only had one window -something we’ll scrutinize later today. Whilst that might sound like a stale task, it’s clear by what many fans are posting online, that we need to revisit some basics.

Tottenham went into fourth last night and suddenly, all the angst looks a little overplayed, no?

Of course it’s all drivel. Torres knew casillas so used to get info from him but was taken off reporting years ago for being a novelist. He was never connected to Jose at all. Jose has never made any quotes of the sort… Madrid fans are fickle. They boo everyone, Ronaldo, Zidane, Jose, Bale.. Yes even after these guys have become legends for them……… My assumption wasn’t failed though was it, I said it was Torres… Whether from a paper or book is irrelevant, they are lies, and I wouldn’t be so stupid to waste my time reading shit like that….. The Dickhead reference is because you have a giant penis attached to your neck instead of a head with a brain.

Perhaps its all drivel, perhaps some of it is true. Torres was a so called investigating journo after all. Rumored to be in the know of Real back in his day. When Real had matches were they only managed 75 passes total during a game, and matches were their own fans booed them off Torres doesn’t seem far off. Wasn’t part of the Mou sacking cause the football wasn’t exciting enough, despite winning the title and Real scoring some 120 goals the year before? But as I tried to state in my original post, this is old news.

The Trump reference was regarding your rewriting of my own post and your failed assumption that I “hashed” from an English newspaper.

I’m not upset by the quotes. But they are not Joses quotes which is exactly what you claimed.. Diego Torres isn’t even a journo he was removed from reporting football years ago for writing weird articles. And that was in the crazy spanish media.. The special one the dark side of Jose by Torres is supposed to be a biography, but he didn’t even know Jose. At all. I wouldn’t waste time reading such drivel….. Mr Trump? Fuck off you prime dickhead.

Haha, so that was what his ramblings were about. I have no problem with that. You know what they say about opinions

I know, right? But do you think that the players are going against the managers wishes and tactics time after time after time? I know of course that it isn’t that black or white. “Its all Mourinhos fault” or “its the players fault only”-statements are a little too easy. But Spurs have lost 10 points so far this season from winning positions. Frustrating. Are some of the players simply not good enough? Could the manager have done something different tactically?

Why are you making up things, Mr. Trump? “You have no grudges?” If you read my post again, you will see what I actually wrote. I have no INVENTED grudges. Maybe the meaning of this got lost in translation, as English isn’t my first, second or third language. I ment that I have grudges indeed, but not for no reason. Then I state my grudges and where they are coming from. Then I also state that these are old grudges and I try to shake em. Didn’t think that these statements were controversial.

No reason for you to get upset by the quotes. They are, as you say, from the Spanish El Pais journalist Torres and his book The Special One after Mou´s spell at Real. Entertaining stuff.

Plane to London? You need a spaceship to bring you back from whichever planet you are on.. You have no grudges? Then state multiple grudges where he had different styles and won more than any Spurs fan can dream of……. ‘His quotes about his own tactics’ is just lies.. You hashed that from the Guardian newspaper. Torres words I believe… So your talking nonsense son.. Go home, try again.

Lloris leads by example with his performances.. The man is formidable.

Lloris is a leader and a fine captain. Everyone respects him… Same goes for Kane…. Of course Kane was telling the truth… I tried telling a few guys that it was all down to players initiative for weeks now… Imagine Maureens instructions were to tell them to defend one goal leads for 85 minutes. Every game. This is what alot of people seem to think. This obviously isn’t the case.

Stick with it all the time against all opposition? Or tweak the team accordingly depending on who we play?

Try watching the channel that doesn’t have fake crowd sounds, Hugo is anything but passive and non-vocal. Sure he can’t yell at them to stop dithering around the centre circle, but when the ball is in our third he’s very vocal – also, the difference between his team talks and Kane’s was there for all to see in the Amazon documentary.

About time you posted this HH, I am sick of reading people blast Mourinho for being overly negative when he has been saying for weeks that this is simply NOT the message he’s telling the players!

It always felt like we could score is it just a fact we feel less pressure away?

I honestly cant believe that Jose would say ‘Score, and then let them come at you for 85 minutes’, even the most defensively minded coach would know that that is a recipe for disaster.

Can use two DMs if you play out and out wingers and get them served up fast. Especially with over lapping switching wingbacks

I take your point about Ledley, but he did lead by example, which is not easy for a GK as you imply. Also i think playing for France he has a lot of strong characters around him who can make that call when necessary.
Perhaps Jose just respected his seniority which isn’t necessarily a good reason to name him captain. But I agree,if he hadn’t seen something in him he would have made the tough decision.

Then perhaps he should learn from Reg and apply himself a bit more.I feel he can’t be arsed at the moment,as if he’s above it all.

Regullion in that wing back position is reminding me more and more of Bale in his heyday

Ledley wasn’t vocal and everybody said he was amazing captain. Every manager makes Hugo captain whether it’s club or country so we must all be missing something. Personally I think it’s tough to be a captain when you are a keeper. When things need doing Hugo reacts very strongly in the dressing room and very occasionally on the field as he did in such a dramatic way last season when he ‘attacked’ Sonny as they were walking off at half time. Mourinho makes tough decisions. If Hugo wasn’t a great captain he would have replaced him very quickly.

Talk about grapes, someone seems sour. Team selections and setup is there for all to see. And Kane has to wait for my visit, as Covid restrictions keeps me from getting on the plane to London. But he stands up for the manager. That’s a good thing. Of course, if what he is saying is 100 percent accurate, it’s a bit more dramatic. Cause that means that the manager hasn’t been able to manage the team correctly in all those games. The players haven’t followed his ideas or instructions in game after game.

I have no invented grudges against Mou. My grudges against him is based on what I saw during his spell at Real, and also at Inter, Chelski and MU. His quotes about his own tactics also makes me quiver:
“Whoever has the ball is more likely to make a mistake. Whoever renounces possession reduces the possibility of making a mistake. Whoever has the ball has fear. Whoever does not have it is thereby stronger”…

But I admit, these grudges are old and should not matter. He is at Spurs now. I desperately try to love him like you do, but he makes it so difficult to do sometimes. Winning makes it easier of course. So shallow am I.

I saw the interview on MOTD2 and couldn’t help but wonder whether he was just backing Jose up or it was true.
If it is indeed the players then where is our captain in all of this? You never hear a peep out of Lloris and then Kane or PEH should take it upon themselves to organise the team’s approach if we start to sit too deep.
As a captain you have to lead by example. The other players don’t have to like you,but they will respect you.I’m sorry Hugo is just too passive to be a captain,it needs someone more vocal.I’m surprised Jose didn’t change the captain after he arrived.
We were starting to sit too deep until they got their goal, but fortunately our attitude changed and we ran out comfortable winners. It was a better all round performance yesterday with a lot of good points.
Rodon in particular deserves a lot of praise for his solid showing.I would like to see him given a run alongside Toby, although I’m not sure why Toby is not being picked currently.Dier doesn’t seem confident with Sanchez next to him which is understandable.Sonny looks in need of a rest.
Did anyone else think that Harry knows he is only one goal away from equalling Bobby Smith’s as second highest Spurs scorer, and it’s another milestone for him.Whenever he is in this situation,he is almost too eager to succede and tends to snatch at his opportunities.I thought he wasted several good chances to score yesterday.

Well, that’s a little naive and childlike version of things. But it’s all good, Spurs won. Will try to forget Mous´ terrible approach to the game against Fulham and look forward. Much more positive yesterday. To not start a game with three defensive midfielders and one of them at RW against a relegation side is a step in the right direction. Hope he sets up the team to play football against Liverpool as well, they are there for the taking.
And 3-4-3 looked to be a nice and positive setup. A system that easily can be adjusted to f.ex 5-4-1 when defending.

It is not in doubt that Mourinho (and Ledley, I think) has brought great organisation to a team that have never been renowned for it. I think this was the first thing that he needed to do but it is often seen as the least exciting. My concern has been that we have struggled – for whatever reason – to finish teams off and being more ruthless is what we need to do next. Although City look dangerous the title is still very much up for grabs. I certainly don’t think our display against Sheffield United was superb by any stretch of the imagination. We beat a team that virtually everyone beats. It is tough to draw conclusions against a side who did not have a single player of PL quality as far as I could see. However we won, created plenty of chances and can give most of the players a rest before the crucial Liverpool game where we will most definitely learn a lot about where we stand. Another Man City performance would be perfect.

Certainly preferred the way we were set up last night, with the 343 and Tangy deeper he was able to dictate play better alongside PEH in midfield. For me, two defensive midfielders is overkill. It was balanced up however by adding another defender and pushing Aurier and Regulion up to thicken the midfield. If this works we should stick with it…
