Dele Alli is running out of friends in the press pack. The once upon a time superstar from Milton Keynes has made numerous petty mistakes, yet it appears to now be the case that he can’t leave the house without being branded a maniac.
There’s no specific allegation made by The Sun, but the whole tone of the piece is the inference that Dele Alli is somehow the 21st century’s answer to George Best.
The whole article is one big game of Smear Bingo. “Scantily-clad revellers”, “Alli, who earns £100,000-a-week”, “His weekend was one hell of a bender.”…
What is not made crystal clear, is that this extravaganza took place LAST weekend. So Dele wasn’t doing anything vaguely wrong – nor was he obviously doing any harm to himself or those about him.
I don’t know about you, dear reader, but I’m pretty sure that I’ve never looked as good as the 23-year-old at 3.37 am.
I’m no fan of Alli, but this is ambulance chasing at its very worst.
Well said.
