Dejan Kulusevski details life at Tottenham, looking ahead to next season

By Eddie Razo -

Dejan Kulusevski arrived in January on a loan deal to Tottenham Hotspur from Juventus, adjusted quickly to the Premier League, and became a vital part of the squad, which finished in the top four.

After clinching UEFA Champions League football for next season, Kulusevski has shared his thoughts with the club’s official website. The 22-year-old stated that although they reached their goal for the year, there’s still much to do as they have an eye for 2022-23.

“I love it here. It’s gone really well. I’m feeling good on the pitch and enjoying my football a lot,” Kulusevski said. “I’m thankful for the whole team. They’ve helped me a lot. The Premier League has been everything I’ve hoped for and even better. I really enjoy my football here.”

“We couldn’t have finished (the season) better. I’m very happy with the team, so proud. It’s amazing. We did it. The manager said we had a fantastic opportunity and we had to go out and enjoy the moment, like we did in these last games. You have to go out and enjoy it, do your best and then what will happen, will happen.”

Kulusevski scored five goals and eight assists in 18 fixtures with Tottenham this past season and stated that being with the Premier League club is something he has enjoyed, reflecting on his last four months.

“I will rest now for some days, and then I want to come back much, much better next season because I believe this team can do much better,” Kulusevski said.

“We have a great coach and great players, and I think we can improve as a team, as we did for the last 15 games – we played well, scored a lot of goals. There is no ceiling for us. So that’s what we have to do. The summer is our time to work, to get better, and we’ll put in the work, that’s for sure.”

Tottenham has the opportunity to make Kulusevski’s stay with the north London club permanent this summer. However, transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano did tweet out that the Sweden international is likely to stay on the loan deal with Spurs for next season.

I’m sure Tottenham intend to sign him permanently within the loan window, it may just be that they feel they can invest money in other positions now and pay for DK next summer. A 15% premium is hardly terminal and his value has probably already gone well north of that price anyway, given his performances since January.
