Transfer insider Dean Jones has shared an update on Conor Gallagher’s transfer situation.
Chelsea agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid last week and the player had personal terms agreed with the Spanish side as well.
However, the deal faced a late obstacle when it was reported that the move was dependent on Chelsea signing a player from Atletico – which has left Gallagher’s move in a limbo.
While Chelsea are reportedly engaged in talks with the Spanish club regarding a move for Joao Felix, the uncertainty surrounding Gallagher’s move to La Liga has resulted in links with Tottenham to resurface.
And as per the latest from Dean Jones, if the move to Atletico collapses, Gallagher could end up at Tottenham.
Speaking on the Ranks FC Ultras Podcast, Jones said:
“The Conor Gallagher situation is very precarious. I feel sorry for Conor Gallagher and I hate the treatment of him personally.”
“If that move to Atletico Madrid was to fall through where does he end up? Tottenham and Aston Villa are the two places being touted right now. Both of those teams are on the lookout for an energetic central midfielder, so that is one to look out for.”
As the transfer window progresses, Gallagher’s future remains uncertain, with Tottenham and Aston Villa emerging as potential destinations if the Atletico Madrid move does not materialise.
