Fabrizio Romano has given the latest on Tottenham’s pursuit of a new defender.
Injuries and suspensions have left Spurs without a proper centre-back, a position that has become the top most priority for the club.
Spurs have been linked with a number of centre-backs including Jean-Clair Todibo and Genoa’s Radu Dragusin.
Romano has now shared the latest on the two transfer targets.
He reports that while talks with Todibo is on, the deal is not an easy one to complete and could take time.
Which is why, Spurs have turned their focus on plan B and have now ‘opened talks’ with Radu Dragusin. A bid could be sent soon.
He adds that the Tottenham manager has given his approval.
Romano shared the update on X:
“Understand Tottenham want new centre back deal sealed by next week — Todibo talks on but if it won’t be done shortly, Spurs have another plan.”
“Told Spurs have now opened talks also with Genoa for Radu Dragusin! Bid could be sent soon. Postecoglou also approved Dragusin.”

Dragusin has garnered a lot of praise in the Italian League with his consistently solid performances.
He could be a great addition to the Spurs team if they can manage to sign him in the upcoming window.
