Dead Men Talking: Post Match Video Outside Spurs Dressing Room

By The Boy -

Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertongen and Hugo Lloris drew the shortest straws and were ushered outside the Tottenham dressing room to field questions, after last night’s Champions League defeat against Bayern München.

Everyone was subdued, but Hugo Lloris looked positively shell shocked.

The problem with Spurs is that the sound bites to the fan base no longer cut it.

Which almost certainly reflects the situation inside the Spurs dressing room as well.

Everyone’s heard it all before.

The manager could’ve been backed to the hilt but if the camp becomes unharmonious (like it has now) it wouldn’t make a difference.

for me, blockers for top 4 are any 2 of the following…Aresnal learn to defend, Leicester or West Ham is legitimate improvement, Chelsea transfer ban lifted before January, United get a new manager (likely ours), we actually get worse.
The last 2 likely to be linked so my biggest worry.

I cant remember if it ws the 3rd or 4th goal for Bayern too, when Gnabry skinned him, he was lucky the lad had quick feet as that would have been a red too.

As I said before – I didn’t watch the game, recorded it to watch later but don’t want to waste 2hrs on that. From what I saw on highlights though, the first 35mins were scintillating, the rest was a European super house being given chances they didn’t really earn.

When Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd couldn’t win back to back matches for some odd reason. West Ham and Leicester are better now too. Mad.

Poch had to put up with almost 2 seasons with no home ground, almost two years signing only 1 player.

How much more does Levy honestly think he can keep handicapping Poch, the players and the fans? He’s not right in the head to even think he can get away with this shit…

The Jan doing the dirty is doing the rounds on social media.

Kane and Mason united the dressing room with their hounding of adebayor, lennon et al. Does this group have the character to turn this around?

Dier needs to be playing in DM, imo.

Our club is the talking point of football yet again for all the wrong reasons. Forums up and down the country probably World wide have taken great delight in last nights result….. Bottlers, Mr Wonfuckall. All out there.

Levy meanwhile counting the £800, 000 he made just in beer sales last night.

Not a good time to be a Spurs fan that’s for sure ….

How was Aurier still on the pitch after that launched stamp on Coman? He’s a fucking liability without a brain.Agree it was a very soft penalty and VAR approved it.There were so very strange decisions last night again.

I feel that January will be pivotal, depending on what we do in the transfer market will say a lot about where we are going. If certain players come in then it will suggest That the manager will be staying. If it is another month of frustration then the writing could be on the wall…

if we can’t right this it says a ton about this lot of players. They are supposed to be paid professionals and just reached the CL final. There may be discontent in the locker room but ffs just play the game. Have they no pride in themselves. I would be embarrassed to be a part of this team right now. Hell I’m almost embarrassed to be a fan of this team at the moment

the way we are playing, I wouldn’t bet on us against anyone…even the dog and duck. Lets face it, we lost to a toon side that at best wont finish dead last!! We cant hold onto a lead, so teams are not scared to go down to us, and we cant bury them deep enough to take their fight. We MUST win the next 2 PL games, and then after Liverpool one oculd argue we NEED to win every game in November too…
I did have one fan (levyologist I am sure) tell me if we are in such dire straights, why are we 6th…remember when that was a good season.

Spurs est1882

I have just watched the “highlights” and my main take aways are…we should have been 4-0 up at half time as we gifted both of theirs. Arsenal are the biggest losers of the night for letting Gnabry go, and final score should have been 8-1 as our penalty was never a penalty and rose foul should have been, and kane vs ledowski is a non starter (talk about perspective)….oh, and if we had a keeper like Neuer we may well have won the league or the CL by now. such a great keeper.

I heard that after the CL final, Vertonghen challenges Poch on why he started Kane and not Moura. The divisions in the camp stem from this.

James McKevitt
James McKevitt

Back to basics tactics wise, Poch needs to show he can learn and drop the stubborn my way or the highway. No more highline, we have no pace in the defence, keeper is hopeless with ball at his feet, drop that diamond, we’re too narrow, asking for a simple ball down the flanks or over the top and we’re toast, and stop playing every single ball out from the back on the floor, we’re not Man City or Barcelona we’re not good enough. Stick it up in the air occasionally. Sort out the fitness, Liverpool can press for ninety minutes for a whole season, and we’re knackered every game after 25 minutes, the season is only started and we look busted physically, never mind the mental side. In January buy some battle hardened veterans to show some leadership and game management skills to the clueless.

Unfortunately ENIC won’t back Poch to the extent that the squad needs improving.Poch has done very well under the constraints he has operated, however there is only so much blood you can get out of a stone.
I would keep Poch, but it is ENIC that need to go,but I don’t see that happening any time soon.Too much real estate development and social engineerig to get done first. That’s why I feel Poch will walk.

No.

This is the defeatist mental attitude that has hindered this club for too long.

Back Poch.

Stop with the we are done rhetoric that is a self fulfilling prophecy.

Poch has the skills to overhaul the squad and improve squad/club cohesion. He HAS already done that a few years ago.

The MP era has been slightly tingly, but it is clearly over. He will be gone soon and we will be looking for the next wannabe winner rather than investing in a proven winner and backing them appropriately. We had been on a gradual uphill spiral, which was very Spursy in promising so much and delivering fuck all.

The stadium has been re-financed and Levy is chatting shit about having the funds…but IF that is the case, are the funds for MP or the next incumbent?

International break soon. New manager to greet the players when they return to training?

If everyone was fit, this would be the team I’d go with. Dier in the DM, dropping into a back three at times, enabling Sessegnon and KWP to push on.

Lloris
KWP Toby Verts Sessegnon
Dier
Winks NDombele
Lo Celso
Kane Son

Subs: Gazzaniga, Foyth, Sanchez, Sissoko, Lamela, Lucas, Parrott

Hopefully it’s bye bye to Eriksen, Rose, Wanyama, Ali and Aurier.

Use the money to bring in a CB, RB, CM, AM and CF (albeit we will need to add to the pot)

Joking aside…If Chelsea get the transfer ban lifted, they are a real threat, Leicester look decent this year, but their form will fade as the season goes on. Arsenal have looked crap and still above us (if they sort that defence out they could be hard to stop). Other than that…I think most other clubs struggling like us. West Ham are in a purple patch, but have faced no-one of merit at all, no local derbies or anything, only faced City and lost that 5-0. Top 4 for me is a reall chance if we can sort ourselves out, but tha tis more to do with grace of crap elsewhere.
