Danny Rose Should Stick To Handing Out Pizzas|opinion

My thanks to our very own East Stand hits a home run

He’s just one of many self-appointed ‘experts’ on the whole Coronavirus conundrum we all encounter every day at the moment.

When did the scientific evidence and analysis of statistics suddenly take a back seat? These are the same people who drive around in the isolation of their car with a face mask on, or walk in the park with nobody around for miles, with a face mask on!? What on earth are you doing? Get some fresh air when you’re out of the house and grow up!

Some people have seriously lost the plot, however not entirely their fault I suppose. You might be a bit dim but that can easily be exacerbated by a ‘project fear’ narrative coming out of virtually every news channel.

If players and staff have been isolating for seven weeks like the rest of us, and further to that they are all tested, what is the actual risk to human life Danny is referring to?

Footballers and backroom staff are all generally of age and fitness that the science tells us are extremely unlikely to become seriously ill if they got Coronavirus anyway. This will also be in a highly tested and controlled environment.

Danny isn’t alone but just one of many gobs-on-sticks talking “bollocks” at the moment. Another self-appointed arbiter on a subject he knows nothing about.

The deaths from this disease are desperately sad, tragic and depressing. However, it’s made even more depressing by the inaccuracies in the reporting, the death toll figures and the general panic doing the rounds. That will cost more lives than the virus itself, time will prove this.

Hero of our time

The hospitals are NOT struggling to cope, they are currently ghost-towns. Scanning equipment is sitting largely dormant in comparison with any other time in history. Activity for life-saving and life-extending treatments have been largely halted, routine screening stopped blood tests at record lows.

Apart from those brave folks working with people who actually have serious COVID-19 symptoms, (not your local Postle who’s suddenly ‘working on the front line’?!), this is a time of immense calm in hospitals and the NHS generally. Meanwhile, treatments, scans, and other usually essential activities pile up a backlog over a population of 65 million people. Worse chaos and loss of life will ensue in the scramble for the NHS to catch up.

There has been an overreaction and a covering of political backsides on an unprecedented scale here. The true human cost of this will make Coronavirus look like a drop in the ocean.

The government and the NHS as organisations will have a lot of difficult questions to answer, in the fullness of time. They might actually have blood on their hands…

Meanwhile, boring people like Danny hop aboard the ‘panic train’ into oblivion.

HH says: My partner has been working on an ICU ward throughout the crisis for a major UK hospital and this is an accurate picture. It’s been pretty miserable. The urge to video a dance routine in full HazMat gear was never discussed. A great many people died with Coronavirus.

Morrisons have been regularly delivering to her unit and others around the country, without any publicity, significant amounts of really lovely food, to say thank you and to keep the morale up. This business deserves to be credited and to the best of my knowledge, they haven’t been.

The sooner unqualified people stop peddling misinformation and questioning instruction that most 10-year-olds could grasp, the better.

Nothing is ever Boris’s fault , he doesn’t even know how many kids he’s fathered for goodness sake.

I’m no fan of Boris, I mean what sort of twerp goes into a Coronavirus ward and shakes hands with everyone? Having said that, who was the doctor showing around that didn’t say “Er, Prime Minister I don’t recommend you shake their hands…” are the blind leading the blind through this?

However, this mainly leftist based ‘confusion’ over the change in emphasis from the government is clearly an attempt to politicise at a time of national crisis. The left and the liberals generally pride themselves on being a bunch of smarty pants. Yet as you say, these instructions a 10 year old could work out.

Perhaps crediting the population with widespread common sense isn’t such a good idea, just look at Danny for example!

People don’t seem to want true freedom and democracy, they seem to want to be led by the hand 24 hours a day and have other people to blame when things go wrong.

Letting others think for you Isn’t freedom, it’s stupidity…

They aren’t busy, it’s complete garbage. It’s disgraceful that nobody seems to be accountable for this, the buck gets passed around until said blame disappears into the ether… institutionally rotten.

So much conflicting information on covid 19 it’s like following spurs targets in transfer windows when we are linked to 100 players in two months and then levy buys noone… One big wild goose chase.. Newcastle takeover imminent, old danny boy could have landed on his feet there… Unless poch arrives 😆

Not to state the obvious, but footballers tend not to be very bright. Darren Bent is one of the new breed of pundits who can speak in a coherent sentence, but he still only got 1 in his Mastermind chosen subject of ‘James Bond’. We live in an age where Joey Essex, Kerry Katona and Danny Rose are given a platform to voice their opinions and there is always someone willing to listen, upvote and share. It doesn’t help when our politicians are leading the confusion telling us to stay in, but exercise as much as we like outside, not to go to work, but go to work if we cannot work from home! I just do not trust the footballers to stay isolated when the games get going and to be fair, I haven’t trusted them self isolating in the last 2 months. When Liverpool win the league, Leicester qualify for the Ch Lg and some non descript team avoids relegation are we meant to believe those players will not hold a house party to celebrate? The Sunday Supplement presenter on Sky said they shouldn’t be having a go at Kyle Walker because ‘we’ will all be guilty of breaking the rules! You can’t make this stuff up.

‘With’ opposed to ‘of’ is incredibly important to everyone.

There are going to be some nasty surprises behind closed doors. Admissions for stroke/heart attack are down by maybe 80%.

Lots of folks will get diagnosed when they eventually feel it’s safe to return to the GP waiting rooms*, how they pan out is something else.

*Receptionists🤬

I rang to get a repeat and the woman said “oh we’re terribly busy” … my response was “errrrr no you’re not. You is shut, is what you is. So I’ll get the meds picked up tomorrow. Chop chop” and put the phone down on her.

The crucial point when looking at the figures seems to be the key distinction between ‘with’ or ‘of’ Coronavirus. That distinction looks like it’s being deliberately fudged in the figures. I saw some professor say it could be two thirds ‘with’ to one third ‘of’. Don’t these people and their families deserve better?

People like your partner know the truth about what’s going on, they must find all this panic and confusion outside of the ACTUAL front line quite bizarre and detached from reality. I spoke to a senior nurse in a department that does life saving treatments and there’s a lot of anxiety about the enforced lack of foot fall. What will all this mean for them and their patients?
