Daniel Levy is now accelerating Tottenham’s plans for a marquee summer signing – report

According to Football Insider’s transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Spurs are ‘stepping up their plans’ to sign a marquee striker in the summer.

The report claims that Spurs are actively seeking a high-profile replacement for Harry Kane, who left the club in the summer to join Bayern Munich in a record Bundesliga transfer deal, valued at nearly £100 million.

As per O’Rourke’s report, Tottenham want to secure an “A-list” striker to bolster their squad.

The England captain spent over a decade with Spurs, making 430 appearances for them and scoring a remarkable 278 goals, and providing 64 assists during his tenure.

Despite losing their superstar, the club is yet to find a replacement for him and are now looking to the summer transfer window to secure a high-profile forward.

Among the potential candidates, Brentford’s Ivan Toney has emerged as a prominent target.

Despite returning to football after serving an eight-month ban, Toney has maintained his prolific form, scoring three goals in four games.

Last season, he scored 20 goals in 33 league appearances, ranking as the third-highest scorer in the division, only behind Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

Given his experience in the Premier League and his incredible numbers, he would no doubt be an excellent candidate to replace Kane.

However, Spurs are expected to face fierce competition from the likes of Chelsea, and Arsenal.
