Tottenham’s disappointing Premier League form has fuelled speculation about Ange Postecoglou’s future as manager.

Reports indicate that chairman Daniel Levy has initiated discussions with Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri over a possible managerial role.

The Lilywhites currently sit 15th in the league standings, having lost four of their last five matches, including a 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby midweek.

While Tottenham have demonstrated promise in cup competitions—most notably a 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final—their league struggles have raised doubts about Postecoglou’s ability to steer the team back on track.

According to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Levy recently held informal talks with Allegri, though no formal offer was made. Allegri, who has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, is recognised for his tactical expertise and trophy-laden career, making him a potential candidate if Tottenham’s league performance fails to improve.

Allegri’s coaching résumé is highly decorated. After early success with smaller clubs, he led AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2010–11. His tenure at Juventus was even more remarkable, securing five consecutive Serie A championships, four Coppa Italia titles, and reaching two Champions League finals.

This is not the first time Spurs have been linked with Allegri. Italian journalist Massimo Brambat reported several months ago that the manager is keen on working in England and that Fabio Paratici could potentially recommend Allegri for the Spurs job.

Levy maintains a strong connection with former managing director Fabio Paratici, who continues to advise the club despite his ban.

While talks with Allegri suggest that Levy is keeping his options open, the immediate focus will be on Postecoglou to deliver results.

The second leg of the League Cup semi-final could prove to the deciding game for Ange. If he can guide his side to the final, there is a chance the club could allow him a chance to end the club’s trophy drought. If Spurs get knocked out, it could potentially seal his fate at the club.
