Chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly considering the future of sporting director Johan Lange as well as others, following widespread dissatisfaction with Spurs’ handling of the January transfer window.
The club had a rather disappointing January, especially considering the dire need of reinforcements due to the massive injury crisis affecting several positions.
With the winter window seen as a vital chance to reinforce the team, Tottenham’s failure to strengthen in critical areas has led to doubts about Lange’s effectiveness.
Daniel Levy could fire Johan Lange among others responsible for poor January transfer window
Club insider and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham suggests Lange’s position within the club has weakened significantly due to the mismanagement of the transfer window.
They got rejected by a couple of players including Randal Kolo Muani, who was Tottenham’s primary target in attack. Lange also initially failed to secure the signing of Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel and the deal only went through after the intervention of Levy and Ange Postecoglou. These events have ultimately damaged his reputation beyond repair.

Speaking to Tottenham News, the insider said:
“This season has been an absolute disaster.
“Therefore, I wouldn’t say it is without possibility that Lange could be relieved of his duties very quickly at the end of the season. His credibility is pretty low at the moment.
“Daniel Levy and Postecoglou had to get involved to get a deal done for Tel after Lange failed originally. It is embarrassing. As a result, I wouldn’t be surprised if the people who have been involved with recent failures, except the ownership, are removed at the end of the season, and that includes Lange.”
If Levy decides to shake things up, Spurs could part ways with Lange and bring in a new sporting director to oversee the squad rebuild and help steer the club back on course.
