Daniel Levy could now terminate player’s contract after he failed to leave before deadline

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to Football Insider, Tottenham could terminate the contract of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after he failed to secure an exit before deadline.

The former Tottenham captain has one year left in his current Spurs contract but has been linked with a move away since the start of the summer.

He publicly started his desire to leave early in the summer transfer window and the club are said to be keen on moving him as well.

A number of clubs expressed interest in signing him over the summer including Al-Hilal, Nice, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Lazio but failed to reach an agreement.

According to the report, the Frenchman was also offered to Newcastle on deadline day but the player turned down the offer to join the Magpies.

Insider claims that Spurs could now be agree to pay off his remaining contract and allow him to leave on a free.

He has one year left in his current contract with Spurs but he is not in Ange Postecoglou’s plans who has already signed Guglielmo Vicario as his replacement.

Lloris is not even considered as 2nd choice with Fraser Forster taking that role.

Postecoglou has confirmed that Lloris would not be included in the final squad registered for the upcoming season.

Despite a dip in form over the past couple of seasons, Hugo Lloris is regarded as a club legend by Tottenham fans for his remarkable 11-year tenure with the club.

The decision to potentially terminate his contract will mark the end of an era at Spurs.
