Cracking Inside Story Demonstrating What Poch Is Up Against At Spurs

By The Boy -

This blog has more or less continuously savaged Daniel Levy for the duration of his stewardship of the club. It’s something that thick people have always struggled with.

The examples of Levy’s damaged way of running a football club are plentiful, however there are usually red lines ruling what can or cannot be published. Too much detail could identify the source and some people have long term relationships with the club.

An unnamed source once described to me an invitation, by telephone, from the club, to be involved in an on-pitch presentation at half time for a game. This was accepted.

However, as the conversation developed, it was made clear that the club was expecting the individual to ‘make themselves known to a steward’ and they would be escorted to the right spot. The club wasn’t paying for a match ticket.

There are far too many other examples of not just cheapness, but mean spiritedness inflicted by the Bald One.

This cropped up today via the Daily Mail and is also worth sharing.

When Tottenham bought Luka Modric, the then Dynamo Zagreb boss, Mamic, got to experience Levy’s warmth, first hand…

This isn’t capable. This is wholly deranged. This is on a par with Great Thunberg’s selective mutism when she first heard about Climate Change.

Meanwhile, in the real world, teams like Liverpool are paying market rate for players, nailing down player contracts so that everyone’s pulling in the right direction. Oh, and waving the European Cup about.

Our boy Levy once knocked the price of 5 replica shirts off a €23million invoice. Hurrah.

I can believe anything of Levy, penny wise, pound foolish. He only has himself to play with the contracts of Toby, Jan and Eriksen. By not paying them market rates, they will walk away on frees, hoist by his own petard. No wonder the atmosphere is toxic, but Poch signed a new contract on £8.5 mill, knowing exactly what Levy was like. The only people Levy is popular with are the Enic shareholders, which is effectively him and Joe Lewis. There is nothing like loving yourself.

I suspect the Goodwill value on the balance sheet is a negative amount. This may be accurate or perhaps as stated a bit of banter between chairmen however there is no smoke without fire and to many rumours about this style and approach concerning Levy. He and ENIC are the cancer eating away inside the club.It is rotten to the core and is a faux football club under their ownership. It eats away inside the club like a bad case of sepsis and affects the manager/coach and all the players. It is now eating into the support as I have now started to dislike watching the team as I suspect do many others at the moment. The club is all smoke and mirrors and no sincerity or heart or passion for the badge or its history. .

I personally thought this was a bit of banter between presidents. You don’t know what was said before during negotiations…like Levy may have said “I will give you £23m and not a penny more” after a hard deal, and this was a bit of banter.
I agree, the optics are shit because levy is a knob, but still.

The figure bandied around currently is 4B,no fucking way.Due to his tightfistedness the playing squad is in serious trouble and were ENIC to complete the rape and pillage of the local community and the surrounding area, they could have an unsellable commodity on their hands, because they would be out of Europe and languishing in mid table.
I’d love to see ENIC and Levy catch a real cold over this, but sadly it will be THFC that will suffer the most, especially playing second fiddle to NFL.Levy will wonder what has happened especially after Amazon have presented him as golden bollocks.

I can imagine him in the THFC canteen scraping Donna’s uneaten peas onto his plate. Does it come out of the players pay-packet when they swap jerseys at the end of a match? This isn’t just cheapskatery, it’s an illness.

Completely irrelevant to this discussion, to any discussion really, but I’ve just been trawling through old clips from the early/mid 80s, trying to find footage of games I attended back then. My dad, who hates football, used to take me to the Lane a handful of times a season from our home in North Wales. Loads of great stuff from the era that defined me as a Spurs fan. We had Clemence, Perryman, Hughton, Hoddle, Ardiles, Villa, Galvin, Crooks, Archibald, Falco, Clive Allen, Hazard as a good back-up. But we were never the full package, sadly lacking solidity. A quality, consistent partner to Graham Roberts at the back would have helped. Always wonder, too, how things could have turned out if we’d have kept Graeme Souness, who was in his Liverpool prime from the late 70s to 84. Anyway, irrelevant as I said, but not a bad thing to do on a rainy morning on the North Wales coast.
