‘Could be sold…in the final days’ – Spurs are now ‘in pole position to land’ super-quick attacker, claims journalist

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have been strongly linked with a move for Brennan Johnson with the latest report from Football Insider‘s Pete O’Rourke stating that the North London club ‘are in pole position to land‘ the Nottingham Forest man.

The report claims that Spurs have been ‘keeping close tabs‘ on the ‘super-quick attacker‘.

Spurs are not the only one club interested in signing him with reports stating Chelsea are also keen on him.

However, it has been said that the player will prefer to move to the North London club as he is more likely to get more playing time there compared to Chelsea.

Johnson is one of Nottingham Forest’s most important player and losing him would be huge loss for them but due to financial reasons, he ‘could be sold…in the ‘final days of the transfer window‘.

According to the report, Nottingham Forest have ‘Financial Fair Play concerns’ after their big spending last season.

Nottingham Forest’s financial concerns might prompt them to consider selling Johnson.

They value him at £50m but expect to coup at least £40m plus for him which as the report points out would be pure profit for the club as he is an academy graduate.

The pressure to raise funds before the end of the transfer window could influence their decision-making process

Johnson is a versatile attacker and can play anywhere in the front three. He had 13 goal contributions (10 goals and 3 assists) in 44 appearances for Nottingham Forest across all competitions last season.

Described as the fastest forward in the Premier League with a remarkable speed of 36.70 km/h, Johnson’s attributes make him an enticing prospect for Tottenham.

Tottenham are actively looking to sign another striker before the window ends to replace Harry Kane who left for Bayern Munich for a whopping £100m earlier this month.
