“Conversations ongoing” – Fabrizio Romano makes exciting Tottenham transfer claim

By Mehdi Gokal -

Fabrizio Romano has shared the latest regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.

If reports are to be believed, Tottenham are on the verge of completing the signing of the Spanish goalkeeper.

Multiple reports have claimed that the goalkeeper is closing on a move to the North London club.

Sky Sports journalist Rudy Galetti yesterday claimed that the two clubs are closing in on an agreement.

And renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that personal terms have been agreed between the player and Tottenham.

He further claims that Tottenham are now engaged in negotiations with Brentford to reduce their asking price of £40m.

He tweeted:

“David Raya has accepted all details of Tottenham contract proposal, personal terms are agreed as reported on Sunday.

Conversation ongoing between clubs to reduce £40m asking price. Spurs, on it. Chelsea didn’t meet his agent 2 weeks ago despite reports.”

It was reported that Chelsea are also interested in a move for him but as per Romano, the Blues didn’t meet his agent 2 weeks ago despite reports.

If reports are to be believed, he could soon become Ange Postecoglou’s first signing as Spurs boss.

Meanwhile, Hugo Lloris who David Raya could be replacing is said to be on his way out this summer.

He has already admitted his desire to leave the club and Spurs are reportedly also willing to sell him after another poor season.

His contract expires next summer and they will hope to cash in on him this year.

He has already received a lucrative offer from Al Hilal who have offered to triple his current wages.

He is also linked with a move to his hometown club Nice. A return to his hometown would be an emotional one for the Frenchman, who was born and raised there before graduating from Nice’s academy.
