Willian has refused another bid from Chelsea to extend his contract until June 2022. Still no agreement. Arsenal are now in talks with his representatives to sign him as a free agent – no bids from Barcelona at the moment. 🇧🇷 #AFC #CFC #transfers

Fabrizio Romano believes that Chelsea veteran Willian is no closer to signing off on a twilight deal that keep him at Stamford Bridge. This is perhaps a tiresome piece of news, but given the condition of Tottenham’s finances and the broader market itself, it’s difficult for many fans to become all that excited over any potential moves.
Back in 2013 Willian played fast and loose with Spurs’ affections, infamously ‘snubbing’ us in a last minute switcheroo to Chelsea AFTER having a medical for Tottenham! The Chelsea coach at that time was a chap by the name of Jose Mourinho. The Special One’s influence is unlikely to have such a magnetic effect upon the Brazilian these days, however the soon-to-be 32-year-old is still putting the ball in the net in the Premier League.
The factors that might go into what Willian might want financially to play for another English side are imponderable at this stage, but the fact that he is stalling at Chelsea is enough to turn a good few Premier League heads.
I agree with the 5 comments below.
Can’t think of many players I’d be less excited rocking up at Spurs – jog on Willy
I really don’t think he gives a flying f**K about THFC so it makes sense that he will join the Gunners. He wants to win stuff and get a load of money for doing so. Two good reasons to stay away from us I guess.
It’s about who is prepared to pay him the most , which is ok by me.
He’ll probably weigh up which club he has most chance of winning trophies at – no prizes for guessing the answer!
He will look good in red & white
