“Contract almost agreed” – Fabrizio Romano shares exciting new Tottenham update

By Mehdi Gokal -

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an exciting update on Tottenham Hotspur’s quest for a new manager.

According to Romano, the English club are on the verge of finalising a deal with Celtic’s current manager, Ange Postecoglou, who has emerged as the favorite for the vacant position.

Romano revealed on Twitter that the next round of talks between Tottenham and the CAA agency, representing Postecoglou, is scheduled to occur within the next 24 to 48 hours.

While the contract is nearly agreed upon, there are some remaining details that need to be sorted out before it can be finalised.

He tweeted:

“New round of talks scheduled in the next 24/48h between Tottenham and CAA agency in order to complete the agreement for Ange Postecoglou.

Contract almost agreed, waiting on the final details to be sorted then it will be sealed.”

Tottenham have been tirelessly searching for a new manager since the departure of Antonio Conte, who was sacked in March.

Initially, former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was the front-runner for the position, but negotiations fell through.

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot then became a strong contender, and although the initial meeting was successful, talks broke down due to a dispute over the payment to the Dutch club for Slot’s services.

However, it appears that the lengthy managerial search may finally be reaching its conclusion, with Ange Postecoglou poised to take the helm at Tottenham.

The Australian manager has achieved notable success during his tenure at Celtic, securing five trophies in just two years with the Scottish club.

This season he completed the domestic treble with Celtic after beating Inverness 3-1 in the Scottish Cup final yesterday.

He has been previously compared to Pep Guardiola by Chris Sutton due to his outstanding work at Celtic.
