“Conte was made fully aware” Journalist makes surprising Conte transfer claim

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham has struggled in this campaign and their performance against NS Mura last week shows we need several changes at the club.

One easy way to turn things around at the Tottenham stadium is to replace some of the underperforming players with new ones.

The January transfer window is a good time to do that, and it could help the club end this campaign brightly.

However, Spurs have reported financial losses in the last accounting year and the club may struggle to get quality players in the winter market.

Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold has spoken about a possible winter spending spree and insists Spurs had informed Antonio Conte of the possibilities before he became the club’s manager.

He said on Football London: “From what I’ve been told, Conte was made fully aware of what the club can and can’t do when it comes to money. They are on a more even keel now after losing £150m of revenue during the pandemic and that debt is spread long-term rather than in short-term loans.

“I think players will be moved on. By his own admission, Conte is evaluating his squad to see who he wants and doesn’t, but also I can’t imagine the Italian would have been brought in without being assured that changes will be made to help him. Tottenham have to push on and improve their squad or the gap will continue to grow to the other clubs, regardless of who is in charge.

“The dreadful performances when the second string have come in for matches in Europe only goes to show how poor the depth is in the squad, or at least the mentality of some of those coming in.”

The Boy Hotspur Says

After that terrible performance against NS Mura, most of the Tottenham first-team players have to be moved on.

But the winter transfer window isn’t the best time to change your squad.

The best players are rarely available and clubs also struggle to offload their unwanted players.

Conte will hope he can get a select group of players from the current squad that would help him achieve success between now and the end of the season.

I’m pretty sure Conte wouldn’t have joined without little tight arse providing a war chest to spend. I just hope he got it down in writing. Mind you if baldy pulls his usual stunt of breaking promises Conte will chin the little runt and then walk, so it’s a bit more interesting this time!

“From what I have been told” Conte’s list of players we must keep is short/very short.

Alasdair “from what I’ve been told” Gold, knows nothing. I really hope nobody pays him for these “insights”.
There will be player movements in January for sure but Conte’s first priority will be to get existing players up to speed and performing bat a higher level.
