At long last, we see Yves Bissouma in for Rodrigo Bentancur and continued faith in Ivan Perišić over the unexpected item in the bagging area that is Ryan Sessegnon. Another one to add to Daniel Levy’s insanely dubious list of punts that have summarily backfired.
I’ve nothing against Bentancur, but our midfield requires energy levels which the boy has yet to demonstrate. Good to see Oliver Skipp on the bench, and perhaps he might get minutes at some point tonight.
My prediction is that Spurs will win by two clear goals, but perhaps if Conte gets out of Sonny’s way, we can see more and put this lot to the sword in some style.
Well that must be one of the worst full debuts in Spurs history. Bissouma was absolute gash. Lost count of how many times he gave the ball away and how many sideways and backwards passes he played. Was that Winksy in disguise? We missed Bentancur big time last night.
